I use Dr Estrada at Olathe Med. She delivered my daughter in January and I was very happy with the care she gave me throughout my pregnancy. Welcome to the area!
I was thinking of having a vaginal birth after having a cesarean with my last child---does anyone have any experience with that or advice to give? Also I just moved to Spring Hill and need to find a good OBGYN that delivers at Olathe Medical Center. Any recommendations?

Douglas Brooks is retiring (known for a VERY long time as the best Dr in Olathe, especially when it comes to VBACs) but you should look up his office, because I know they would have the best reccomendations for you when it comes to that.
I am a certified labor support person (Doula) and the research is showing that the rate of c-sections is no higher for VBACs than for people who have never had a C-section. But, the key is that you need someone who can help you get through the labor without an epidural (since that more than doubles your chances of cesarean), and also need a doctor who won't induce you and will wait for labor to start (since induction also doubles your chances of cesarean). Only one of my clients has ever asked for an epidural, (she was my very first!) and I have helped all the rest to have natural births!
I am more than willing to talk with you about this, so please feel free to email me at ____@____.com can also check out my website at www.ashleydoula.blogspot.com. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you have and encourage you however I can.
I go to Dr. Peck at Olathe OBGYN. He is in the Dr building right next to Olathe Medical Center. His partner is Dr. McFarlane. I can give you the number if you would like. Just let me know. J.
Don't have any advice on the VBAC, but Dr.Bavishi at OMC is the best around. You should really check her out, her number is ###-###-####.
Good Luck.

I work in L&D and your best bet is to start with family drs that deliver. There are alot in this area. THey are more likely to do a VBAC than an OBGYN I know that a few of the drs mentioned are very anti VBAC. Just keep in mind that in the end, this is your birth and you have every right to deliver the way you'd like.
