Vbac - Fenton,MI

My husband and I are getting ready to start trying for our 2nd baby. Our first was born by c-section and we'd like to try to have a vbac. Can anyone recommend where they went for one and a doctor? I'm even open to trying a midwife, but would prefer it in a hospital setting just incase something happens.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We did it!! It was a lot of work, and we did a lot of research to make it happen. We got our vbac, and highly recommend
trying for one if you had a csection before. The recovery is amazingly better (and my csec recovery wasn't bad).
I really wish doctors would explain more of the risks involved for having more children after having a csection.
They make it sound like they're the greatest thing in the world and most women do not need them. Hello, did our bodies
really forget how to give birth?

All of our success at having our VBAC was because of our doula: Courtenay Grabowski, and our doctor: Dr Lindemulder at Genesys. With out them we most likely would have ended in csection again. It was a very long labor, 36hrs, but I'd do all over again. Even though I swore up and down during labor that I'd never be pregnant again!

If anyone is thinking of having a vbac, I'd love to help with any questions you might have. It's so worth it.

The midwives at McLaren are great. They only deliver in the hospital. I used them for my second but couldn't with my 3rd and 4th due to health issues. They did vbac's back then. I checked your profile and see we are in the same town. They did have an office in the McLaren building on Owen Rd. that they seen patients in one or two days a week. My peds is in that building, I just don't get to the other end often so call ###-###-#### and use option 3. They can tell you if the midwives are still in that building or at least direct you to the right number. If you have any questions about using a midwife you can e-mail me anytime.
For an OBGYN Dr. Felenbalm(not sure I spelled that right) at Genesys is really good. The last I knew his office was right in the hospital in Grand Blanc. Also, Dr. Wilson is great, though his office is in Flushing on Elms Rd. Good luck!

I had a c section with my first and really wanted a v-bac with my second. after a few hours in the hospital they started talking c section again. i told the doctors lets do everything we can first to not do that again. the nurses worked with me turning me side to side or up in my knees to get my baby to turn. it worked and i didn't have a second c section. they did use the vacuum to help suction her down but i would do it agian just to spare me the c section
as long as your baby isn't in any trouble your doctor should feel comfortable letting you have a v bac
i live in howell and i see the group of doctor out of mcpherson hospital. Dr bradfield is awsome. though dr sibsom delivered my daughter becasue he was on call that day.

Yeah, the midwives at Mclaren can't do VBAC's anymore, at least that is what my last home birth client that went to them when she has her prior c-section said...I dont know how you spell it, but a couple of my clients have seen Dr Hardas (sp?) out of Genesys. She seems kindof nice. It is good to get a monitrice if you are going to try to VBAC at the hospital.
