I am wondering what everyone has planned for Valentines Day. Any ideas would be great! We have a 3 year old and one on the way due August 30th. We would like to make it a "Family Love" day and I just want some ideas!

Thank you in advance :) You all are great!

We hate going out on Valentines Day because it's always so busy, so a few years ago, I bought a fondue set and we've been doing that on Valentines Day ever since. It's become a tradition and my kids love it! I do the typical cheese fondue with bread, shrimp, steak, and veggies. For dessert, I do chocolate with angel cake, fruit, and marshmallows.

Good luck!

You could go to the zoo! We took my daughter to the zoo last summer (she was 3) and she loved it! My husband has actually talked about us going to the zoo just the 2 of us for Valentine's Day because he loved it too haha

We send Valentines to our children's cousins and a few neighbor friends who don't expect it.
This year, I actually planned ahead and bought tiny tape measure key chains for my second-grade son to pass out to his classmates with a punny note--something like "As a good friend, you really measure up!" or some such. I was trying to think of something good besides candy.
Your three-year-old is old enough to make X's and O's and learn they stand for hugs and kisses. I bet grandparents would be thrilled to get some X's and O's in a note from her.
Have fun!

How about all of you cooking a nice special meal together. You can have your 3 year old help with the meal too. Then maybe rent a nice family friendly movie that you can all watch together. I like the idea myself.

My husband showers before I get up, so the day before Valentine's day last year I blew up a bunch of balloons and put them in the shower. I also taped a sign in the shower that said something corny like "I hope you feel showered with love" then trapped all the balloons there with the curtain. He loved the cheesy surprise and the kids loved playing with the balloons for the rest of the day.

We also do fondue on Valentine's evening (for the same reason as Johanna!), and it is such a fun tradition! My 3-year-old loves it (he calls it a "fun-do dipping dinner" :) and it's a special treat that we all look forward to. My husband and I go out together, without the kids, on a less busy night (when finding a babysitter and getting in at a nice restaurant isn't so hard!).

I want to do the same thing with my 2 year old daughter. I'm planning on making chocolate pops with her(she love to help me cook). and valentines for our neighbors cause she also loves arts and crafts. You can make cupcakes shaped like hearts, lips, and have your little girl help you frost them. For the most part I try to focus my daughter more on giving than receiving, so if you want you can take the frosted cup cakes bag them in cute little plastic bags, tie them with curling ribbon and give them out to your family members as valentines. They would be that more special since your daughter would help make them...
I hope that helps.
Good luck to you.
