Hi, mamas!

I want to make these Valentine's cards for my son's preschool Valentine's Day party: http://www.mommysavers.com/2011/02/lollipop-valentines-da... However, the preschool has a strict "no candy" policy. I'm wondering if anyone has any fun ideas for things I can use other than lollipops? The only ideas I had were silk flowers for the girls or maybe glow bracelets for both boys and girls. Anyone else have any other fun suggestions?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks, everyone! I love the crazy straws idea! Not as wild about the pencils - we have a ton of them that we've received over the years that we have never used. I may still use silk flowers for the ones that we are planning on mailing to (adult) relatives. :) Thanks again.

What about valentine pencils from the Target dollar bin? They have tons of different varieties right now, from Snoopy/Peanuts to traditional hearts and cupids.

What a cute Valentine -- I may steal this idea! Glow bracelets are fine and so are pencils -- even preschool kids love colorful pencils, and you could get Valentine-patterned ones at any drugstore, party store or even grocery store. If the class is small, you could even use pens instead - kids' pens with "gel ink" in bright colors etc.

Good for you for sticking with the "no candy" policy. It's just not needed, kids get way too much, and there are plenty of cute alternatives that are actually useful like pencils or pens.

Love this idea! I might try it! I like the idea of straws in the shape of a heart if you can find them.

We have used pencils or "crazy straws" in the past as a substitute for a lollipop. Michaels, AC Moore and CVS have the Valentine's Day crazy straws right now.

OMG those are so cute!
Pencils, silly straws, or glow bracelets would be great.

My daughter and I made cards using a deck of cards, we used stickers with cute sayings, you could also print off your own and use glue stick to adhere to the card. we made pencvil toppers to go with them, and they were a hit!! the toppers were made from chenille pipe cleaners and heart foam stickers, just put 2 together on end of the pipe cleaner and wrap around a pencil. you can add wiggly eyes as well to make it more fun. hope this helps:)
