What is the best way to vacuum stairs? I have a Dyson which is too big really to get the stairs. What do you use?

Thanks!

Good morning,
I know vacuums seems bulky but when i clean houses for people i just use the big vacuum, set it on the step or second step down from where im cleaning and use an attachment on the hose and vacuum each step. It really isnt too hard at all once you get a rhythm down. Stairs are always a pain but you could also use like one of those hand held vaccuum's i dont know if they have enough power never used one but its an idea.
Have a great day hope that helps

I have a Dirt Devil handheld (it says "classic" on the side) and it is awesome. It still plugs in like a regular vacuum and has the roller brush, but is just a little bigger than a dustbuster. I haven't used my big vacuum on the stairs since I got it, and even my kids like to use it! It has lots of power! i think it was around $40.00 if I remember correctly...worth it!!

I have a dyson as well but mine came with a stair attachment. I know some models do not come with it, however, you can purchase it separately. http://www.marbeck.com/vacuum_attachments_dyson.html

I use the dyson hose with the floor tool.
