does anyone have a vacuum cleaner they love?
we are in the market for a new one. I don't have the money to spend on a dyson though.
We do have pets so that is a factor.

What can I do next?

I crossed Dyson off my list after hearing my mom stating how it is a good vac but she hates it because its heavy and hard to deal with.

I have a 20 yr old self propelled Hoover that still is great.

For the last 7 or so yrs, I've used my Oreck XL top of the line one and LOVE it.

Great pick up, HEPA filter, super lightweight so no more " need" for a vac on each floor of the house because its so lightweight!

Love my Oreck and daughter will be taking the old Hoover ( good machine) to college in the fall!!

I tested the Hoover Wind Tunnel Air. It's about $100 and it's pretty good!
It's not a Dyson, but it picks up, is easy to empty, and is light weight.
I vacuum almost every day - I have 2 cats and a dog. I like it and the price is right.

We bought a refurbished Kirby online for about $150. Plus shipping, it was about $200. These vacuums are workhorses, have good suction; some varieties offer a liquid carpet cleaning option; others are straight-ahead vacs with a lot of attachments/hoses. I grew up with one and we bought ours a few years ago-- wish we'd bought it sooner. We have carpet, marmoleum and hardwood; this cleans all three. We found ours on eBay..and we have a cat that sheds like the dickens. Good luck!

I love Kenmore Canister vacuums. I should state that I am all about clean floors. My friends tease me about how clean my floors are.......I also use to clean houses during grad school. I used lots of vacuums..Dysons, Hoovers, etc. Kenmore Canister is my favorite.

Shark navigator. I have two kids, two large dogs, and a cat. My cleaning lady recommended it to me and I love it.
Got mine at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Was able to use one of their 20% off coupons on it.
I think Kohls also carries it. They are good about lots of coupons also.

Just bought a Shark Navigator and love it! Look up the reviews for it. All good. Uses the cyclonic technology, swivels, has many attachments. I am very happy with it and would never spend the big bucks for a Dyson unless it could clean the floors by itself without my involvement! I used a coupon at Bed, Bath and Beyond, so it was under $200.

I bought a shark navigator about a year ago and LOVE it! I have a cat and two little ones with dust mite allergies and other allergies and this vacuum does a really good job. It has a hepa filter and a couple other filters and they r all washable and lifetime. For the price u just can't beat it. They sell them at Walmart and kohls.
