Oh WOW, Would I BE PISSED! Sorry... But wow.
I would research this asap, and also I would look into legal action, you never know the long term effects, that is terrible!
I took my son to get his 15 month shots and the nurse accidently gave him another child's 12 month shots. So he received the 12 month shots twice within 3 months. Has this happened to anyone else??? And can anyone tell me a good place to research the effects of vaccines?? Thanks!

I am trying to contain my furry! First of all I HOPE you blasted them. GET THIS DOCUMENTED ON PAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I were you I would NOT give my child ANY shots for a long long time. You have the power to say NO! This means he got a double whammy of the MMR!!!! AND THE CHICKEN POX!!!!! I am so appalled. My son was vaccine injured! I know about vaccines! DO NOT GIVE HIM TYLENOL! That depletes the glutathione which helps to detox toxins in the body. Did he have any reaction? We do classical homeopathy so I would be at my homeopaths to do anything I could to counteract that. I hope someone chimes in here who can help you with what you could give him naturally to help his little body handle that load. DO NOT listen to people who tell you this is not a big deal!!! I certainly do not want to scare you but you need to be informed.
You can email me anytime if you have any questions.

WOW!! There are a ton of sites with really good info! http://drtenpenny.com/default.aspx Dr. Sherri is actually a close friend of ours! I really respect and trust her. My husband actually wrote a book on Vaccines and their dangers. He is a Chiropractor who see's vaccine injured children in his practice. I think it's great that you are planning to research this issue! We have 3 children, all born at home, and the only doctor they have seen is their daddy! They are incredibly healthy! I think it's terrible that this nurse cannot do her job correctly, I mean don't get me wrong, people make mistakes, but with our childrens health you'd think they'd be more careful!
One thing to really look into is each disease, there are ways to boost the immune system as well as treat these "deadly" diseases. And in the state of TX you can exempt your child for philosophical reasons. You can get the info for that from our website www.exemptmychild.com
Go mama!!

No-one can really know what effects this will have on YOUR child. Maybe nothing, maybe something. Effects of vaccines are caused by the genetic makeup, environments, and other exposures that your child has to toxins and his body's ability to deal with those at this young age. That is the difficulty when talking about safety in vaccinating at a young age. One child may be completely fine, but another child could be have life threatening reactions. This is why as one poster wrote below, YOU as the parent are the childs only line of defense. I would worry about this office. Mistakes happen, but mistakes in the medical arena are many times life threatening. Ask what 'checks and double checks' they go through to make sure this doesn't happen How did it happen this time? I changed Dr.s for my son when one of the 'inturns' broke his vaccination needle in my sons arm. I wasn't comfortable with how things were done! I will also check out the Facebook suggestion below. Sounds interesting!
Wish you the best!

It doesn't really matter health-wise. Most vaccines have multiple doses. If your child received the Hep B vax at birth they received an extra dose of that anyway becuase of the way the vaccines are grouped.
I would be mad if this happened to my child (as a nurse it is a major event to give the wrong meds) but it shouldn't have any health ramifications. If you look on the CDC website you can get a list of what's recommended when and know what your son got vs what he needed.
I would contact the Center for Disease Control. You can also find information on line. I hope this nurse was reprimanded for this horrible mistake!
I second the Dr. Tenpenny thing...http://www.facebook.com/#!/vaccineinfo
Did you ask the doctor?? I will admit that I always re-ask what my son is getting because, quite frankly, the medical community messes up . . . ALOT. Parents are a child's only line of defense.
This would be a great question to post to Dr. Tenpenny's page on facebook. Become a fan and ask questions.
Find out the specific shots he got. Many of the baby and toddler shots they get the same shot more than once to build full immunity. I took a quick look at my daughter's immunization record and they had 12 to 15 month shots grouped together so I can't tell from that which are which. You and your doctor need to go over what he has had and what he will still need. There are so many site I can't tell you where to start except the Dr. Sears site. I don't agree with him on everything but his vaccine advice seems pretty sensible.
You don't confirm what is going into your child before hand?! I always ask and my PEDIATRICIAN reads the label. So I say shame on you for not being more on top of things.
Wow, there are a bunch of crazies on here!! BTW your vaccines were most likely NOT administered by a nurse, but a medical assistant, which anyone can be called after completing online courses. These MAs practice under the doctors license, so your Pedi is the most responsible. What was their advice?
