My 15 month old got her one year old vaccinations on Thursday. My husband is the one that took her, so I wasn't able to talk to the dr about side effects. I expected a bruise where the shots were given b/c she struggled, but today one of them is a welt the size of a half dollar- all red and hot, the other on the same leg was appparently close to where her diaper is and now looks like a soar and is bleeding some. Her other leg looks fine. We take the kids to our family doctor, so he doesn't have the nurse line like some peds have. Should I be worried- or can I wait until Monday when our regular dr is in and call if it still looks bad then. (My oldest daughter didn't react this way to any of her shots)

I'm not sure of the urgency of this, but I do have one suggestion. Take a pen and trace the outside edge of the marks on her legs. That way you will be able to monitor if the redness and swelling is increasing, decreasing, or staying constant. The doctor will want to know that.
i hope you have already taken your little one to the e.r. that is definitely not a normal reaction to vaccinations. i'll be praying for your little girl that she isn't in too much discomfort until you get it all figured out. good luck!!

We don't do vaccinations BECAUSE this happens a lot! Vaccine reactions can be deadly. I would take her in, research vaccines, and if you do decide to do them, DELAY the schedule. My main concern is that a lot of moms don't realize you don't have to get vaccines, and if you do decide to get them, it is SO much more safe to delay the schedule. Hope everything is ok. If you want any information or some good websites, let me know.
