Vacation to Banff Canada......

We spent our honeymoon 18 1/2 years ago in Banff, Jasper and Calgary. It's beautiful. Great hiking, great dining. Lake Louise is nice. The glacier tour was nice. My husband has always wanted to take a train across Canada, but I would recommend a car so you can take detours and explore. If you like to hike there are great trails and there are other sights between the various locations, including the glacier and Lake Louise.

My in-laws (who are retired traveling fools) have done this trip and taken a train. They loved it. Not sure about price, didn't ask, not that they would ever tell anyway! Ha!

If you think for a minute that you would like it, I say give it a go. Won't know if it was a good idea until you try it right?

~As long as I am with my husband and we are on a 'vacation' or 'trip' we can have fun or enjoy ourselves just about anywhere! Ya know what I mean? Sometimes it's not the destination, it's the journey...right?

This is my parents favorite place to vacation! They have gone numerous times and absolutely love it. I don't know about the train though.

I have been to Banff. We went in the summer, and we drove from Calgary to Banff. I have not done the train, but I do believe it is expensive. Banff is absolutely beautiful, but it is good to go by car so you can explore the park. We are going again this summer. We are visiting the Royal Tyrell Dinosaur Museum in Drumheller, then on to Calgary to the zoo, and then to Banff. Hotels are expensive so we will be bringing a trailer and camping.
