Looking for suggestions for vacation ideas. My husband and I have a 4 year old, 3 year old and 18 month old twins. Would like to find a place that everyone could enjoy. Waterparks are probably out due to the parent/child ratio......not enough hands. Also, would like it to be witin driving distance to south eastern michigan (with said small children).
Thanks for any ideas you could throw my way.

What can I do next?

There's Seasame Place in Pennsylvania. I've heard it's really fun. Then maybe you could stop at Hershey Pennsylvania too. Yum. Have a great vacation. S.

Have you been to Sandusky, OH? It's only an hour and a half from you. Your older 2 would especially love Cedar Point...

There are lots of other things to do in that area as well...a Lagoon Deer Park, a Merry go Round Museum, a River Cruise

an African Safari Wildlife Park,

Wherever you end up...have fun!

It depends on how long of a vacation you are looking at. The place that I work, IslandWood, in Washington state, offers weekend-long family camps. These getaways are SO much fun for families with young children. Your family gets a private room in a cozy lodge, delicious family-style meals, and your choice of programming. Some activities from past family camps include nature art, garden cooking, hiking, visiting the tree houses on campus, and searching for owls. All of the programs are family friendly, but there are also a lot of trails and intriguing tree houses and other field structures to explore with your little ones.

Just saw your note about driving distance to Michigan - could be a bit hard :) but still a neat place to look into!

How far are you from Indianapolis?? They have a great children's museum there, so I've heard. I've never been there but I think it's one of the best in the country. I don't know what else the city has to offer, but something I'm sure! Also, could you rent a lake cabin somewhere? It might be fun to do some boating or dock/beach swimming. If your cabin was on the lake you could take turns with the kids and keep the little ones on land if necessary.

Chicago Area is fun and so much to do! Check out www.oakleesguide.com if you come to the Chicagoland area. It's a family fun guide with great coupons (love a good coupon) Navy Pier is a great spot - excellent children’s museum and they usually have free entertainment for the kids on the stage during the day. If you are traveling in the summer when the fountains are on - we picnic at Millennium Park and l bring the kids swimsuit they love playing in the fountains there! The Sear Tower – now know as the Willis Tower, John Hancock Center, all the amazing Museums, take a cab or bus to the Lincoln Park Zoo! Weekends can get a little busy but if you have the flexibility and can be there during the week you would miss the crowds. Mag Mile has Hersey Store (always a favorite) my kids would tell you the BEST chocolate milk in the world there. You can always hop on a Metra train and discover other towns. The suburbs are great too! Legoland in Schaumburg, Kohl Children Mus. in Glenview, Naperville has DuPage Children and an amazing River walk!

Finger lakes? Not sure how far that is from you, but renting a house on the lake for a week might be a lot of fun... camp fires, roasting marshmallows, boating, relaxing...
