Are you a member of AAA? They have discounted tickets for the parks. I know that they also have a travel agency for the hotels. We personally use airline discount for hotels.
We r planning a family vacation to disney in august. My question does anyone know of a website for discount hotel or park tickets?? I tried to do some research myself, but all the sites are soooo overwhelming. And i am not one to be able to sit & search.
Thank you in advance for any info **

Go to www.kayak.com. They can search all the major travel sites all at once to get you the best price. Right now Disney is begging for business so you have a good chance on Priceline with a really low bid. There are much better prices in the Kissimmee area than on International Drive and most hotels/motels offer a free shuttle service to and from the parks. Even though I live in Florida, I got a better deal right from Disney's website for tickets than anywhere else. Above all else, beware of scammers, there are alot of fake tickets being printed out there.
I would search for the hotel on Priceline (you don't have to bid, you can buy the hotel and know exactly where you are staying). You can also look at Last Minute Travel.com, Orbitz.com and Travelocity.com. The best park tickets are usually Florida resident rate if you qualify. Sometimes Universal has a discount with a Coke/Pepsi can.
wdwinfo.com and allears.net are two really great sites! Also if you go to Disneyworld.com, they have deals; and if you order their free planning dvd you get on their mailing list with great offers sent to you! Have fun and plan on oppressive heat and daily afternoon thunderstorms in August.
Good Morning....If you live in the Jacksonville area listen to 92.1 fm. It is called the Bargaining Channel. They have deals all the time on there for the hotels and attractions. Most of the hotels are around $79.99 plus tax for a 3 day 2 night stay. I hope this help and I hope you have a WONDERFUL vacation!!!!
We've been 7+ times and I've always done it myself. I deal directly with the Disney site.
If you feel you can't do that, then spend the extra $ to get someone who knows how so you don't get trapped in some deal you can't get out of.
I agree--Disney themselves will really help you, although be prepared to spend a long time on the phone. I also like www.allears.net. It's organized and usually pretty up to date.
I just got back. Staying at the pop century is usually the cheapest. Thought it is a long walk for the busses as you are always the last stop in the row. That was a pain. We tried the dining plan and yes you do save money as a Floridian it still is cheaper for us to stop at Publix and get sandwhich meats etc for lunches. Also some cereals for breakfast etc. Also it was a pain that we had to buy one park ticket to get the dining plan then had to wait on line at the park to upgrade it to a 3 day florida ticket because the pop century would not do it there. But it was still disney and it was fun
We went to Disney World just last week - it was a great first time for my kids! I did not enjoy the plannign stages of the trip because it was so overwhelming, but I did find a great site full of great info: mousesavers.com
I also recommend the "Official Guide to Walt Disney World" by Birnbaum Guides - full of terrific info and tips.
I'm actually in the process of writing an article for HubPages.com about travelling to WDW with kids - tips and stuff. I wrote two already, on the awesome resort we stayed at (Fort Wilderness) and on the nighttime parade and show. Here's links to them in case you're interested:

Hope this helps. Have a magical trip!
Try hotwire.com for hotels, I just booked 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend in a 3 star hotel right by the entrance to the park for $39 a night! As for the Disney tickets themselves, I'm not sure. Are you a Florida resident? There are normally good deals if you are. Have fun!
Call disney themselves
The value resorts are actually very resonably priced and august is the time of year where they usually throw in the meal plan for free.
It really is the easiest to stay on property
look at mousesavers.org and disboards.com
HAVE FUN!!!!
We just got back Sunday from our vacation there. We went to priceline.com and you can type in what kind of hotel you want and what you want to pay. Priceline will see if any hotels will take that. We stayed at a 4 star resort for $75/night. It had transportation to the all the Disney Parks for free. We brought cereal and milk to the hotel and had that for breakfast and made sandwiches and snacks we brought into the park instead of buying food there. As for park tickets, as florida residents we did the 4 day park ticket for $99, but I know that is over May 21. I would try to call Disney directly. Have fun!!!
You might actually want to consult a travel agent since there is So much info out there. Have fun!
