Utterly Exhausted

So, I am utterly exhausted all the time. I wake up in the morning just longing for nap time to come sooner so I can lay down myself. I generally eat healthy. I don't get "out" to exercise because I have two toddlers running around here (I babysit for a friend). And personally, I feel like that's a workout in itself. Haha. Even if I have the opportunity to get out and exercise, I'm too tired to even think about getting on my shoes. I've gone to the doctor and had labs drawn, they all came back normal. My chiropractor gave me a food-based supplement to try- Adrenal Dessicated. I guess it helps occasionally. My husband and I would love to have more kids but the way I feel now, with just one of my own, I'm not sure if I can physically do it. It's such a miserable feeling to always be thinking about getting back to sleep. Someone once suggested that maybe I'm depressed. I'm a generally happy person (who doesn't have bad days?), but start feeling 'depressed' or whatever you want to call it, simply because I'm SO tired. My husband and I have family nearby so we do get to have "dates" quite often. I guess I'm just at the end of my rope and sick and tired of being so miserable. It makes me feel like a terrible mom because a lot of times, the thought of having to go "play" makes me sick. PLEASE HELP!

What can I do next?

You don't say anything about your sleep quality at night. Personally, I am a triple-insomniac: I take forever to fall alseep, I wake throughout the night, and I wake for good very early, sometimes pre-5AM. So I am a zombie during the day. I did a sleep study, and I have very slight sleep apnea and supposedly have restless leg syndrome. You might check into a sleep study if you don't feel like you're getting good sleep at night. Good luck, and sweet dreams! :P

Check your iron, also ask your Dr. about possibly having Fibromyalgia (spelling?) My friend and cousin both have it, and it's different for those that have it. You feel tired and achy like you have the flu etc... something to check into... Also, if not getting enough sleep, try taking a sleeping pill to go asleep earlier and stay asleep? Vitamin C is good at extra energy, as well as Vitamin B... Talk to your Dr. about vitamin supplements before you start taking them, and maybe he/she can suggest other supplements such as ginsing or somthing to provide you with extra energy? Good Luck!

As a 40-something mom of a toddler, I certainly look forward to every opportunity that I get to take an afternoon nap, too...

Have you considered getting a new mattress? I now the quality of my sleep improved quite a bit earlier this year when we got rid of our old (15 years?) spring mattress. Ended up with a NovaForm Comfortluxe from Costco... it's not as expensive as the Temperpedic mattress, but provides many of the same benefits.

Hope this helps.

I to am always tired and the doctors have nothing to say but you have two small childeren you're chasing around. I saw that you did have blood work done but make sure they checked your thyroid. I know I'm not much help but thought I'd put in my two cents worth.

You might try a B vitamin supplement. I was having problems with the same thing, just tire all the time and really grouchy because of it. My friend suggested a Super B complex that her LNP told her to start taking that really helped her. I have started taking it and definitely noticed a difference. I hope things get better for you!

I saw someone mention blood work-up. I agree and I would also ask them to check your iron levels!

I have found that a lot of it is in the state of the mind. I know that no one wants to hear that. I believe that eating well is great. Getting some low impact exercise is key too. Meditating is wonderful. And by all means do enjoy some days that you give yourself permission to sit and watch movies. BUT..be careful what you tell yourself and what you say outloud. If you say all the time that you are tired, that's what your subconscious is going to think.

I don't have a magic answer. It comes from the will. You must have the will to enjoy this life and life and live it to the fullest.

Procrastination is a killer too. I was just enjoying some down time during nap time. I was laying there watching some tv and thinking about a whole list of things that should be done. But I looked around at my very clean house and gave myself a mental pat on the back for all the work I do. I am thankful for my mother, husband, kids too. I couldn't do any of this alone! But mostly I decided when my show was over that I would just pick one more thing on my list to do. I stuffed an evenlope with a catalog and candle samples and addressed it. I promised to send it out today at the latest and by golly it's going even if I would have rather just stayed on the couch and found another show.

BALANCE.. That's the key.

Go pills help too LOL! I take Leptopril. It's not really helping me to lose weight. But I love the energy I feel and without any jitters.
