My theory is you get what you pay for.
I would go with a reputable attorney in your area to make sure all bases are covered correctly.
Legal woes can really tear a family apart, make sure you get it right the first time.
My dad wants to make me Power of Attorney and I just initially thought to use the attorney that I used to draw up our will. However, my mom (she and my father are amicably divorced) suggested that I use an online legal service, particularly the one with zoom in the name. Sorry, I'm not sure if we are allowed to post actual names on this site. Anyway, I am going to check and see the price difference, but has anyone done any legal services online and what was your experience like. Thanks so much for the advice!

I'm a Texas attorney, so I couldn't opine on how it is in Pittsburgh, but here, a POA is about the simplest document you can do. I actually advise people who can't afford me to use the "zoom" site -- or which ever one it is that Robert Shapiro created?? They check themselves, and make sure documents conform to each state's requirements. I see no problem at all with using internet resources, as long as you use a reputable service. Frankly, in my opinion, attorneys are WAY over-priced for simple documents and its a big crock! (Don't tell any other lawyers I said that) ;o)
Hi, J.:
In Virginia, You can type up your own simple document stating the name of your father gives to you his Power of Attorney and have it notarized.
That's it.
An attorney gave this information.
