Hey Mom's, I would love to know if any of you have used lupron to shrink fibroids prior to hysterectomy. I received my first dose about 3 weeks ago, doctor did inform me that there may be break thru bleeding well it's going on two weeks now and I am sick of spotting. I have had the occasional hot flash but the weird thing is I don't have the night sweats anymore,(I suffered from graves disease a few years ago and my thyroid has been out of whack)since receiving the injection. I would love to know if anyone else has used lupron to shrink fibroids before surgery and if so how long did you deal with bleeding if at all? My doctor is out of town for 3 weeks so I can't ask her I appreciate any feedback you all can provide.
Hey you guys thanks for the fast responses. I actually finally stopped spotting last night of course after I asked the question. But again thanks for the info from everyone.
I personally have not used it but my cousin used Lupron and she ended up going in for an emergency hysterectomy...The bleeding started out with spotting and continued to get worse.....

I do not do any chemically created drugs
(having already studied intensely the effects of them).

I used Lupron shots for three months to shrink fibroids before an open myomectomy ten years agao...no bleeding but major hot flashes by the third month....it buids...no lasting side effects after that...good luck with everything.
I received a monthly shot of lupron for 6 months and I didn't experience any bleeding or spotting. I am sure everyone reacts differently, but maybe you can call the dr. office and speak with a nurse?
I was on Lupron several years ago for shrinking of fibroids and endometriosis. I had two surgeries following the Lupron, 5 years apart. I remember a short period of spotting, but then I remember my periods stopping all together, the whole 7 months I was on Lupron. THe other sypmtoms I remember were night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings and abdomen swelling or slight weight gain. I remember being glad it was over. It was basically like going through menopause. Good luck to you though.
Do you take folic acid supplements? There are nutrients that help clear up fibroids.

Fibroid tumors are primarily caused by eating and drinking dairy (liquefied cow snot/mucus) products, e.g. ice cream, sour cream, cheese, yogurt and milk; and eating meat (slaughtered animal flesh).
The number one cause of fibroid tumors is dairy products. I find many females are hooked on dairy, especially cheese. It’s mind boggling to me because they have no idea of how cheese is processed. In order to make cheese, baby male cows are killed and their stomachs are cut open and their intestines are added to the cheese because of the intestinal enzymes. This is true! Disgusting, but true! All that ice cream, cheese, and milk chocolate will eventually do a female in. To eat dairy products is to sign a contract for fibroid tumors.
