This may sound dumb, but I am freaking myself out. I washed the dogs today, usually my husband does that but he is busy, so I thought I would do it myself. Anyway, I am in my 7th month of pregnancy and didn't even think about the fact that I was using the flea shampoo until I was already done washing both dogs and now I am scared. I am worried that I may have harmed my baby by using this stuff. It is the only time I have done it through out the whole pregnancy . . . but . . . Does anyone have any thoughts?
Unless you ingested the dog shampoo I wouldn't worry too much.
I did the same exact thing! Not even thinking twice I bathed both of my Pomeranian's in flea shampoo and I'm 8 weeks pregnant. Right after I was finished I washed my hands thoroughly and began to get worried. Of course I went to the computer and started doing some research. There's mixed reviews regarding flea shampoo and pregnancy so I'm just left wondering what's true and what's not. I see this post was like 4 years ago but if you by chance check this please post back and let me know that if you ever found out any definite info. Thanks! :-)

I wouldn't freak out too much! I know that I washed our dog a few times while I was pregnant. Like the other lady said, call your doctor just to be sure. But I'm pretty confident that you and the baby should be fine. Best of luck to you!

I am certain the baby is not harmed, but certainly call the Dr if you need to, sometimes the reassurance is all you need. I had an x-ray done on me before I even knew I was pg and freaked out when I found out I'd had an x-ray while pregnant. The Dr reassured me that he felt the baby would be ok, the most harmful is continuous exposure. Like you said, this is the first and only time you've done this since you've been pg, so everything will be fine, but call your OB if you need to.

People have been Washing there dogs in Flea Shampoo's for upteen years,Some were evan more powerfull than ones you get on market today.
If there was any type of harm to be done it would have came out by now on a FDA report or evan on Shampoo bottle to not use if PG.
