Hello Mamas,
I think that I have a urinary tract infection. It started yesterday night (feeling like going to the toilet a lot, uncomfortable sensation). I then drank plenty of water and it kind of went away yesterday during the day. I became confused: if you have a UTI, you either have one or you don't...but it's not supposed to go away like that!? Or is it? I don't know...
Anyway, the same symptoms came back last night and I think that I need to see a doctor.
I don't have health insurance and virtually no money, unless I borrow some from my family.
What do you think I should do? Do you know of a reasonnably priced doctor in the 75231 area? (North East Dallas, Skillman). Should I see an OBGYN?
Has anybody had the same condition and could advise me on what to do?
Thank you

If you really think it is UTI go to your local pharmacy or walmart and get over the counter AZO. If it is UTI it will clear it up. The pills are either dark red or orange. I take these any time I even feel the slitest bit like I may have one. If you let it get too bad the pills do not work so I recomend getting them soon.
FYI- The pills will turn your urine to the color of the pills for a little bit so don't be alarmed.
Hope this helps
It's best to see your doctor to make absolutely sure it's not an infection. But what you said about drinking water making it go away, also points to dehydration. If you're not drinking enough water your body can not properly expell waste, causing a burning sensation because of the high concentration. And the feeling like you have to go but there's nothing there, same thing, not drinking enough water.
I don't know of a doctor around you, but I just had the same thing. I went to my OBGYN who informed me that I had both a UTI and a yeast infection! She said it was a good thing that I came in before the infection spread to my kidneys. So don't wait around if you suspect an infection. It also never hurts to call and ask the nurse at the Dr's office who can provide you with more information based on your symptoms. I hope this helps.
Also, drinking lots of cranberry juice will help!
Someone else has already mentioned this but I wanted to say that AZO works really well for UTI's. YES, they will turn your urine bright orange but that goes away after a little while. As far as a "cheap" doctor I would have no idea. If you ever find one PLEASE let us know. I don't have health insurance either so I run into the same problems.
Hope you feel better soon.
