Urgent Care

Hey moms-
My daughter and I are both sick. I thought we just had really bad colds, but now I'm not so sure. I don't want to wait until Monday to go to the doctor and was considering one of the local urgent care facilities. I know there is one in Flower Mound on 2499 (by Kroger), but I can't think of the name of it. Anyway, I've never used one. Is the charge similar to that of a regular doctor's office...just pay the required co-pay? If anyone has a recommendation in the FM area, I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thank you.

What can I do next?

Care Now to me is expensive. I went once and they sent me to pharmacy after I told them I do not have good insurance. I had a discounted insurance and the meds cost me $96 G. W

A-Cute Kids Urgent Care saved my daughter's life. I live in Keller and drive all the way over there for urgent care needs. We definitely recommend it.

I recently had to go to the Urgent Care facility on 407 (next to Wal-mart) and it was REALLY nice. If you call ahead, they will tell you how long the wait is and they will call you back to let you know when the availability is open for you to come in. I think the co-pay depends on your insurance, but I only had to pay $20 co-pay. I was dehydrated and had a severe case of strep-throat, so they hooked me up to an IV with antibiotics and fluids. I was pleasantly surprised and VERY happy that I went there instead of the emergency room.

I am pretty sure its called Rapid Care. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Take care!

Good evening,

Yes, with insurance you are required to just submit the co-pay amount. I have taken my daughter to urgent care on several occasions and wouldn't hesitate to urge you to go if your intuition is telling you to.

Best of luck and take care!

We use First Choice which is on 2499 next to Thai Ruby and Fish City. It is a fully functioning ER which means that it is priced as such. You could call ahead and see if they accept your insurance and what your co-pay would be. I have three boys so usually blood is involved when we visit...if you are sick with the flu and it is not an emergency you might consider a walk-in clinic which I think CVS has one. I also have found that several of the Flower Mound family practice clinics have all day walk-ins - I can't remember the name, but it is on 2499 just south of 1171.

Hi, My Sis in Law lives in Flower Mound- the Acute Kids Care center is fabulous!! It's located right in the same parking lot as Kroger's and staffed by Peds Doctors.http://www.acutekidscare.com/locations.php
I would defintely check it out, the co-pay is the same, you can call ahead if you would like.
Hope this helps!

co-pay would probably be the same there as it would for the ER. usually higher than normal Dr. office. It should say on your card what your co-pay for ER will be.
