I am looking for an upholstery cleaner/shampoo for my couches and ottoman that's safe for little ones! Any suggestions or favorites out there? I tried Woolite Oxy for a few spots,which you're supposed to spray on and then blot with a wet rag and I now have rings from the water on my ottoman :( Let me know if you've found something that works well. Thanks!

i use one of those heated shamppooer/vaccuum, mines a bissel, i dont use the soap, i put water where the soap goes, and turn the heat on it, i wash my carpets and upholstery with just hot water and suction and it works nicely.
I use the Woolite trigger bottle, might be the one with Oxy in it (blue bottle). I spray the whole couch and use a wet rag to scrub it/wash it. I have had no problems. When I do a touch up, I do get a bit of a spot though not too bad. The fabric of our couch is micr-fiber and no damage to it at all.
And my kids are MESSY. The couch is cleaned at least every other day.
clean the entire thing after spot treating the stains with a rented Rug Doctor or have the professionals come clean your furniture once a year.
You might want to consider washable slipcovers until the kids are older. They're kinda ugly but will keep things clean and you can take them off when you have guests. ;)
