Just wondering if anyone has tried it and if it worked. My MD says my only option to help with ovarian cyst is to get back on the pill. It wasn't any option since we were trying to get pregnant. I have an appt in a couple of months and I am seriously considering getting back on the pill and accepting we are going to be a 1 child family (we have been trying for 3 years!)

What can I do next?

I haven't tried it but when I had an ovarian cyst I didn't have to be on the pill long for it to clear up (not even sure it was a full month)....don't give up on your dream of having another child! It took us 3 years with our first and our second was a little quicker.

good luck.

I had an ovarian cyst HUGE removed surgically. Now they can do it laparascopically. Get a second opinion before making a decision.

Have you looked into natural, nutritional options?

I have Polysystic Ovarian syndrym (or something like that). I found too that the pill is the best treatment. I would do a month on the pill then two months off while trying to get pregnant. After about 6 or so months of that I tryed three months off and that is when I got prognant. I am also trying for number two, after one month off the pill I didn't have a second cycle, so my midwife put me back on the pill for two months then I am going to try to go off again. You had one, there is always the chance to have another!! Good luck.

I had ovarian cysts. Because I am firmly against birth control that was not a method I wanted to try. I broke down and tried it for about three months. It didn't do any good. What was the best therapy for me was to go on metformin. Not only did it even out my hormones and clear up the cysts, I was also able to start losing weight due to my hormones being back in check. I have talked with many other women in my area who also had very good luck. It took my husband and I seven years to have our first child and that happened after being on metformin for about 2 yrs. After my first child my doctor and I were discussing going back on metformin when I got pregnant again. I have never had to take any medication for ovarian cysts since and have not had any problems since either.
