I just got done having my interview/meeting required before you can even apply to the program and let me tell you its alot of hard hard work its 24 months straight through 8am to 5pm the first year is only like 3 days a week but its heavy academics t owhere you need all 5 days the second year is 2 days at the school/lab and the rest is traveling all over the tampabay area from pinellas to hernado county going to different hospitals. Oh and basically if you do not have a 4.0 and or anything below a 3.7 on y our 4 pre recs classes forget it. THey are Ap 1, A college level math, english, and i forget the other one plus after you do the pre recs you have supporting classes to do either before the program starts or during! THe cost is very expesive but now I forget what he said it would run for the 2 years. They have on average 130 applicants for a class of 20 to 25 max!!!! This is over at HCC.....
Good Luck!!!
Can't be a lot of help but I went to college and took a computer course. It cost me $156.00 for the class and it was in 2001. 44 years after I graduated from High School. I loved it. Just wish I could afford more classes. I lucked out and got my books free from a student that was going to throw them out. Otherwise they would have cost me $300.00. Both my girls are in college and tuition is expensive. But the books are what really cost.....You can find a lot of them online but you have to match the bar codes with the ones at the college or they are no good. Also Grays book store on Dale Mabry in Tampa has the books usually for less money than on campus. I say go for it and go to FAFSA and fill out to get it. It will show you your family responsibilities. You may get some financial aid by doing this. Also it leads you to a place to find scholarships. Good Luck. I wish I had kept going......
I haven't gone through the progarm but I have had 2 friends go through the program at HCC. I am not sure it is 2 or 3 years. You maybe able to do the progarm part time.
I know the ultrasound techs who graduate from there are hightly regarded.
