Just wondering if anybody knows about any kids boots that are like Uggs(sheepskin, flat sole). We go walking a lot during winter and regular shoes just do not do it.Our kids also hate any type of rubber snow boots(they make them walk like robots:))I have looked online and could not find any stores that have anything like that.Paying $120 or even $79(EMU) each is not an option.....$50 would be tops.Even on ebay they go for almost $70 and thats used ones .Please share any websites that you've discovered. Thank you in advance
Thank you so much for the info. I was excited to find Emu boots (I have a pair and love it) on Amazon for less than $50(and free shipping:))Our boys are very hard on the shoes and Walmart and Target brands never lasted in the past:(I know sheepskin boots are not good in the snow......but It will be a miracle if it snows here this year:(.....so that is not an issue. Thank you again to everyone. You're the best.

Target has them for about $20. Lands' End has similar boots too, for a lot less than Uggs.

Hi L.,
Have you tried the local Craig's list? You can search and see if anyone is selling or you can put out a request for Uggs. It's great. We've found and purchased things for the little one and the people selling we have dealt with everytime have been really good and decent people. Of course, I always bring my husband with me when we go and do the pick up.
Good luck!

You could try payless... I went to their website and just did a general search for boots and some UGG LIKE boots showed up...
I don't know if they have them, but I would highly recommend you check out www.seekairun.com They have fabulous shoes and boots for babies and children that may be similar to what you are looking for. I've bought them for years and have never had a complaint.

Hi L. ... OldNavy.com has some nice styles. You could also try Piperlime.com (although they are a little pricey, but they may be offering a discount on winter styles.

If your kids like crocs they make a winter snow boot now. Just saw it on there website yesterday, can't remember the price though. I think it was around 50? Only other thing I thought of is try a store that sells native american clothing, they sometimes have those really cozy shearling shoes an boots?

I just bought myself some at Target, too. They look great, but I can already tell that they are cheaply constructed--the seams are joined under the edge of my foot instead of just to the outside edge of my foot, and that is going to really bug me! I am going to look for another pair and see if it was a fluke or if they are all the same. :(
As a side note, I totally agree with a previous poster--these are definitely not a functional "snow boot" for the kids! Food for thought...
I think either Target or Walmart has a $12-$15 version. You could probably use a water-proofing spray to make them last a little longer.
You could also try Land's End or LL Bean. They generally have stuff like Ugg's but are less expensinve. You can also get the Land's End stuff at Sears (or order it from a Sears store and not pay any shipping).

Hi L.,
I just bought both of my daughters' the Emu boots. I'm not sure where you are looking online, but I went into a nicer neighborhood shoe store and purchased them for $50 each. This is the 2nd year my girls wore them and they were $50 last year so I anticipated them to be higher in price and they weren't. Try going into a store instead of online. They'll get you for shipping too!
Good luck,
M.

Hi L., The most comparable boots to Uggs that I have seen are Emu's. You can find them online and in stores like Sports Authority. My 10y/o daughter has both and she says she can't tell the difference.

I got a pair of Ugg like boots off amazon. I believe they were called Bearpaws or something. They are EXACTLY like uggs. And I'm pretty sure I only paid like $46 or something like that for a pair of adult ones. Good luck!

I hear your pain on the price of the Uggs. Last year I got Emus instead on zappos.com . Unfortunately, I should have just bit the bullet and purchased Uggs. The emus wore so terribly. Within days, the heel area was kind of smooshed down and they were so dirty (well, I did buy pink, so I should have expected that). This year I spent the extra money on the Uggs and so far, they are wearing much better. I have a pair myself and I just want to let you know that there is NO arch support, so even though they are cozy, they are not the best for walking long distances.
I'd check zappos for an Ugg-like boot. They have a really good selection. I think Minnetonka makes one like that for much less.

Hi. Not really sure about Ugg type boots but just wanted to say that Ugg boots are only for the looks. they are not really for wearing in snow. more for the california winters. Thats what I have been told about them. Hope you find boots that they enjoy.

I didn't look at them carefully, but I believe I saw some "Ugg type" boots at Target this weekend? The thing I love about Target shoes is if my daughter grows out of them, or trash them in just one season..it's OK!

Hi L.-
My kids have boots similar to uggs, but they are bearpaws. You can check them out at FamousFootwear.com. We have not used them in heavy snow for long periods of time. Just in a cleared area in our yard. Not sure what your ages are and activity level. They run about 50.00 for kids. Hope this helps.

Check out this brand, Bearpaw. They're shearling lined and similar to Uggs and Emu. I found mine at Shoe Pavilion, Famous Footwear or one of those stores. Also in the past Overstock.com had them but not sure if they'd have kids sizes.
If you get the lookalikes from Target or Wal-Mart, the fur linings will be synthetic shearling, which is not at all breathable and will make your kids' feet sweat.

Bearpaw brand of boots look exactly like Uggs and they are very well made. I bought my daughter 3 pairs last year in 3 different colors. Search the net for them to compare prices, and look for coupons too. Here is one place you can get them for about $40:
Just google your heart out. You'll find them for much less out there. I think we bought one pair last year for only $35.

Check out Target Stores or online. I brought a pair of dark brown ones for my daughter and they were 17.99. I'm not sure what they are made of but they seem like suede?? She has worn them a few times already and they are good especially for the price. Happy Shopping! S.
