How about dominoes pizza. they often have 2 pies for $10.00 deals.
Hello mommies,
My son turning 4 in April and I need some ideas of cheap and quick recipies to feed our family at his birthday party. We will have 2 separate parties for him, 1 for kids and later on 1 for adults just family (uncles, aunts, grandparents and so on).
Since it is going to be around lunch time (adult party) and everyone would be hungry I was thinking to make something quick and easy for the family and then have cake. If you have any recipes, crock pot maybe I will appreciate your help. Thanks a lot!!!

Thank you all for your wonderful ideas! I wish we could do only 1 party but unfortunatly it won't work with my son's friends, adult schedules and so on. Oh, well, maybe next year! Thank you all who responded again!

You already have good ideas on here with the mini hot dogs and taco salad.
We also do veggies and fruit trays.
You can do a build your own sandwich station - with little rolls, ham, turkey, some cheese, mayo, and mustard.
Chips.
Popcorn.
I also agree to do one party...that will make your life so much more simple!!
I'm highly considering doing one party for all 3 of my kids if we do one at all this year.
I agree w/only having 1 party. It cuts the costs down.
Lasagna feeds a crowd. Maybe have 2. Cut in small squares.
Green salad.
Bread.
Crock pot? My friend dumps those mini cocktail wieners w/bbq sauce.
I love the pizza idea. Easy. Crowd pleaser.
Add salad.
Definitely have cut up veggies w/Ranch dressing.
Mini quiches (quick & easy)
Cake or cupcakes.
A few bowls of chips so people can graze.
Bowl of M&M's (a fave)
Mini hotdogs.
They come already made, from like Costco etc.
Those "appetizer" type mini hot dogs that are wrapped in pastry dough.
Kids like that.
Easy.
Just heat it up in the oven.
But you did not mention how many will be attending.
The quantity of people invited to a party, directly affects costs... per food and party favors, cake size, amount of drinks/beverages needed.
Or an alternative idea is, to make the party at a non-meal time. That way you just serve cake and ice-cream, not a "meal." Thereby cutting down on costs and food needed.
And being you are having 2 parties for him... then that will double the costs. Why not just have 1 party and just invite everyone to it? 2 parties means double the costs.
OR... have a "pot luck" type thing.
Casual.
Taco Salad - in a casserole pan, layer refried beans, black beans, ground beef or chicken, guacamole, shredded cheese, chopped up lettuce, diced tomatoes. Serve with a bag of chips with bowls of sour cream, jalapenos and olives on the side.
You can make a bunch of wraps and cut them into little slices, then pile them up like a tiered cake. My sister-in-law would always make them overnight, use a mix of cream cheese and sour cream as the dip so they would really stick together. You can have a mix of turkey and american; ham & swiss; roastbeef & cheddar, etc... You just need a tiny bit of shredded lettuce and bits of tomatoes if you wish.
Also, since it's nice and cold out, maybe a nice chunky soup. There's this awesome packet of baked potato soup I get at Shoprite. The company is called 'Black Bear' or something with a bear... I make 2 packets on the stove, dress it up with some sour cream, and cream cheese (Sometimes I even add some more ready-cut potatoes from a steam-and-mash)......... Then you can keep it warm on the crock pot. Have some cheddar cheese, chives, and bacon bits as optional condiments that people can use to dress it up.
Good luck!
