Tying Your Tubes - Peoria,AZ

There may have been this question around...but I am going to ask it again.
I need some GREAT advice as to tying tubes. I'm 36 yrs old & I think I am ready, but scared
of the procedure.
What is it like ? Recovery time ? The science of what your body does with the
eggs ? Is it healthy for me long term ? Do you still have your Peirod ? Should I wait ?

Thanks,

What can I do next?

I had my tubes tied and had no problems. I had mine done at the same time I had a c-section so I was already cut open. It might be different if it is done at another time but I had a little pain laughing for a couple of weeks. I would not be able to tell if the pain was from the c-section or my tubal ligation. I still have a period and there would be no reason for you to wait unless you want any more babies.

I was so happy to gett my tubes tied! I was nervous, too. Then I thought I would go through some sort of grieving process, knowing I couldn't have any more children...phsht! None of that...(not yet, anyway.)
The procedure was overshadowed by the other procedure I had (an endometrial ablation) to reduce my period...it is now one tampon...about every three months. Whoop Whoop! It is fantastic ...no mre periods interfering with daily life! I still have all the hormonal changes (so I still have a bit of PMS)
I figured why have a period if I weren't able to have any more babies!
Both procedures were relatively painless. The only problem I had was not resting enough (when I got home and felt fine.) But that was my bad!
I had this done at 33 years old. I say google the rest, so you have exact info. Feel free to PM me if you'd like!

I had my tubes tied at 36 also. I do not regret at all. I feel fine, I still have a period (unfortunely). I don't think you should wait. If you are sure you don't want anymore childern, then go for it.
I had my tubes tied via c-section w/ my 2nd child, so I did not have to have an 2nd procedure. If a c-section is not in your future, they will do a laproscopy. It's an outpatient procedure, they make 3 tiny incisions in your stomach area--and your tubes are tied. :)

Hope this helps! I'm really glad I did mine.

hi,
im 25 and had mine done 2 yrs ago at 23, if you know that your pretty set on kids i would do it, the procedure itself was nothing, its like i was out then woke up 5 min later...it takes about 20 min. I was ok recovering after a few days the only thing that hurts is your insides they have to use an intrument to manipulate them to get to what they need. and your throat will be scrtchy for the next day but im a baby and it was a breeze. the only diff you havew after is you release the eggs but they cant come down your fallopians because they are cauterized shut. for the first cpl months i had minor things i felt like i had pmdd but that faded. nothing is diff now, i have regular period (they were alittle abnormal for a while but smoothin out) long term at 36 there arent many reasons why it would be unhealthy for you, unless ur prepared to have a newborn now it's always wise. good luck

My vote is also for Essure (essure.com). I did it 3 years ago and have nothing but great things to say about it. Please feel free to message me through my profile if you want to discuss it. It's a big decision!

S.,

Have you thought about doing the Essure Procedure? It is an alternative to getting your tubes tied. I had it and there was no down time for me at all. I have three little ones and had it done when my daughter was about 6 weeks. I was in and out and felt normal after, except for some light cramping. Ask your Gyn about it. It was really worth it for me. Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you.

Hi S.,
I had my tubes tied when I had my third child, (my first girl). They did it through the belly bottom and it was not painful until I got home of course. It was very uncomfortable for about 5 days although the doctor said 3!
Yes it is long term and they told me that it could not be reversed. I think it could but it would be very expensive to try to get it done. So I suggest you make sure you are ready for this. If you really don't want to have any more kids, then go for it.
I have two boys and a girl and sometimes my girl (8yrs old) asks me to have another baby girl so she can have a sister. It breaks my heart but I've told them all that I'm blessed just to have them, and maybe someday we could adopt.
You will have your period for sure, that will not affect it.
Like I said, just make sure that you don't want any more children. I had to do it because I was having hair loss with the birth control pills. Aside, three was a good number even when we had agree to four. If it was up to my husband I would have a football team by now. :)
Which brings me to the last suggestion, make sure that your husband is okay with it. My husband had to sign papers agreeing with it.
Best
I.
