I totally feel for you, and I have dealt with this for 2 babies now. The first one, I didn't know what was wrong, but a different ped this time, and its better. It sounds like acid reflux/Gerd. Get some Hyland's Colic pills, if you can't get those, then the teething ones work pretty good, but the colic pills are the best. You can look on their website to see where to get them. I get them at Target in the pharmacy or at Fred Meyer in the health food section. Keep him sleeping sitting up at at least a 30 degree angle, we use our graco sweetpeace soother, but a swing will work too. Or, the carseat is a good angle. This seems to be the worst at night for some reason. You can also use mylanta or store brand, and give 1 -2 ml at a time to neutralize the acid. Also, a pacifier is really important, we use the gerber ones that look like the old fashioned kind because they have a big bulb and are latex which makes a difference. We also use Alimentum because part of the gerd is a milk protein sensitivity...and my ped said soy can act the same way in the body. My first one could use about half soy and half alimentum, but my 3 month old can't use any soy or breastmilk he was allergic to it too. I hope this helps, if you need more info, please email me. Once you go to the doc, they should give you liquid zantac and maybe prevacid. This work wonders!! But, give them directly, not in a bottle as they don't tend to work as well mixed in.
