Two Minute Showers

My motto (for showers) has always been: Get in. Get clean. Get out.
No lolly-gagging! :)

It is a challenge but it can be done...I am not at 2 mins but I can been done in less than 10 mins EASILY!

I shampoo and rinse my hair first. Then add and leave in conditioner, apply facial scrub and leave on while I soap up and shave down. Then rinse and I am out!

I work pretty early so I'm up before everyone in the house. Up at 5, coffee, then in the shower by 5:15. There is no stinkin' way I could shower in 2 minutes! I would love to get my hands on something to help conserve water though. I've been tempted to get a timer because my two daughters seem to think we have an endless supply of free water, but the good shower timers are really expensive.

Not me... no way I can shower in 2 minutes.

I can jump in the shower and be ready to walk out the door professionally in 45 minutes. My shower is probably the longest part of the time frame. I love my hot relaxing shower.

As much as I love Jennifer Aniston I'd bet that she doesn't have to worry about shaving because she probably gets professional waxes, and facial scrubs.

She probably gets in and just scrubs down really fast. If that's all your doing then it can be done.
Who's to say that she doesn't have someone at the salon to do her hair?

I think it takes a normal person about 10 minutes to get in a quick shower, that includes hair, shaving, and washing etc.

That's how about how long it takes us in our family, I'm all about conserving water but you do what you gotta do and sometimes it just takes longer.

The only way it really works is if you can quickly shut the water off and on in between when you really need it.
Step in the shower, turn it on, get wet, turn off the water, soap up, shave, then turn water on and rinse off.
The shower ends up being longer than 2 min but the water is not running that whole time.

I guess I'm kind of a pro at it now because I grew up camping and many of the state parks we visited had paid showers that lasted two minutes a token. I generally could do it in 2 tokens. If your intent is to save water, though, you can turn the water off as your lathering, shaving, etc. then turn back on to rinse. I'm constantly on our 7 year old like a drill sergeant while she's in the shower. We live in drought country here (So Cal) so we're very cognizant of saving water.

I used to have this showerhead with a "soap up" valve on it. You would wet your body, then stop the water, soap up, then turn the water on to rinse. Easily you could do a 2 minute shower that way. Otherwise it would be impossible!

And I'm sure she never works out, eats whatever she wants, and has never had a nip or tuck... Please!!! There is no way a woman could shower that fast and get all her nooks & crannies thoroughly clean.

I do it but its in a series of on and offs. I turn on the water and have a plastic jug in there with me I catch falling water and with that I turn it off, and I use the jug for shaving, and then I soap up at this time. If its just pits, then its 2 minutes. More that's a 8 minute job. I do facial scrub in sink, and I wash my hair with 2 types. Though I get the soap in while water is running, then when its off I let it sit, then rinse when back on. I use a leave in conditioner because I use Nioxin. I think then that might be a little bit of a cheat?

Have you trired dropped the shaving in the shower? I did. :) I am not super hairy and shave one time a week over the edge of the tub in shorts. It is like brushing your teeth where the water goes on and off as I need it . . .
I do believe the length of your hair has something to do with it and I have a feeling Ms. Aniston was, not lying, but maybe exagerating the truth. She may have had 7 out of 10 showers at 2 and under. . .

She probably does not shave her legs in the shower if she takes that short of one. Also her hair usually is short. I can probably take a 2 min one if I am just washing my hair and my body. If I do anything more than that it would take longer but I don't like to rush myself when I am in the shower as that is one of the few times I get some alone time!

I'm in there till the water gets cold... That's my relaxation time, morning or night....

My showers are 3-5 minutes....longer on weekends. ;)

I get wet, shampoo and leave it in while I apply baking soda as my cleanser AND exfoliant - then rinse my hair and face. I apply conditioner (rarely - I have long hair but found my hair is SO much healthier NOT using it and no tangles.), soap my body - all my nooks and crannies, shave my pits and do a total rinse.

I shave once a week, and though I could do it everyday, I don't.

It's the only me time I get most of the time so I take my time. I'm busy like every other mom but not that busy that I can't take a 10-15 minute shower just to relax and collect my thoughts.

I think it takes about 10min on average, but I also do not shower/shave etc daily. I just find it a waste, plus my hair is curly so it is easy to wear down then up next day and I freshen up areas that need it IF needed. Plus, my skin is sensitive so daily showers are too much for it and NO face needs a daily scrub.

Maybe you could expand upon this by not shaving in the shower? I shave my pits in the sink and legs on the edge of the tub.
Also, I find it impossible to get a 2 minute shower with long hair. It takes forever to wash all the shampoo out. Perhaps Jennifer Aniston has better water pressure in Hollywood. lol

She is lying! When I was in Basic we were allotted 5 minutes-enough time to soap up, wash and condtion hair and maybe shave your armpits if you had time!

I take quick showers--but not that quick! I wash everything daily--including hair. I shave every 2-3 days. My mom takes super quick showers, but she doesn't wash her hair every time. Like some other moms have said--sometimes I just like the peace and quiet!

as a woman 2 minutes is insane. Maybe since Jen has a hair stylist they wash her hair for her so shes not counting that. Or sometimes she can skip washing her hair. If I blow out my hair I dont wash it for a week. then I can do like 4 minutes. Rushing in the shower is no good. It is dangerous. You can fall bad. be careful.

I used to work on boats in Alaska doing research. To conserve water from our water tank we could take 1 shower once a week. And it was a "boat shower". You turn on the water, get your body and hair wet. Turn off the water. Stand there freezing while you soap up and put shampoo in your hair. Then turn on the water and quickly rinse. No shaving. No facial scrub. No nothin'! Maybe Jennifer Aniston took boat showers, haha!

I get up at 6am and take a shower before I wake up my kids at 7 to get ready for school. I usually take 10-15 minute showers (depends on if I shave or not)

i shower for real at night. my hair is better slept on then straight-ironed. i also work out in the a.m. so yes, i rinse off then too. horrible, i know.

and oh yeah, how i do it is get up at 4:30 am lol. otherwise, i don't. workout....or sometimes, shower! lol

My showers are about 10 minutes or less. I have long hair, have to shave just about daily and of course, need to scrub up. (2 minutes, I couldn't do it all). I was the oldest of four kids. We all had to be quick to conserve the HOT water. My kids are 3 and 6. I get them breakfast and while they eat, I jump in the shower. I am usually out before they are done. On weekends when I have back up I tend to linger a bit, just because I can.

Two minutes is a pretty short time. When I was cutting shower time down, I timed myself for a week to find out how many minutes I really used (it varied, depending on what I needed to do). Then I tried to cut it down by fifteen seconds - and then another fifteen - and so on. It may never be two minutes (but then I don't believe that report!), but it's shorter than it used to be. I'm more efficient.

All I have to say is my HUSBAND can't shower in only 2 minutes. He uses the shampoo from top to bottom. If he shaves it's a little longer even still.
As for me...HA! Yeah right!! It takes more than 2 minutes just to get my hair wet let alone shampooed. Add washing everything else, conditioner and shaving. Not a chance!
I stay at home with the kids so I don't have to worry about being up and out the door by X time. I work showers around naps or I have the older ones watch the younger one while they work on school work or something. Or I just take the little ones in with me to save time.

Sorry, but I shower at night. The thought of crawling into my clean bed with a dirty body, and the horror thought of my husband cuddling up to a dirty smelly body is totally disgusting. And a two minute shower? Serious? I can see conserving water like the poster talked about a boat shower if you're not married and not interested in attracting the opposite sex but 2 minutes isn't enough to get clean. Yuck.

I'm thinking her 2 minute showers were just showers. Shaving, facial scrub, shampoo, doing anything extra would take more time. One doesn't have to do any of those in the shower.

I have taken really short showers because of lack of time. They were probably 5 minute showers because I included shampooing my hair. The conditioner was the kind that you comb thru after you damp towel your hair.

2 minute showers--no, not unless I were forced to do it (the sailors on submarines are; I dated a guy once and he said literally, after 2 minutes the water automatically shuts off--whether you still have soap on you or not).

5 to 7 minutes, maybe. I shave pits every day or 3rd day (I have sensitive skin and hardly ever where t shirts that don't cover my pits :); I have legs 2x per week in the summer, 1x per in the winter (no one sees my legs in winter so I don't care).

I do a shampoo & conditioner in 1 on the days I do leg shaving, & shampoo & separate conditioner on the days I do my pits. I wash my fash while I'm rinsing my hair.

But most of the time, I don't rush too much. I don't lollygag, but those are precious few private moments taking care of me, and I try to stay in the moment and savor them. So, I actually shower at night (I have long straight hair, and I don't do much styling besides a braid or twist or something to it in the A.m.)

I can do a shower in 2 mins. if I don't shave. I have short hair and a quick routine. I don't soap my whole body hardly ever because of dry skin, so just the important parts.

Sometimes I shave by putting just a little water in the tub, then sitting on the edge and shaving. It is easier to shave in the shower, though, so I do that sometimes, too.

I often take 2 showers in a day because I workout almost every day and need to shower after, so I keep each shower really short.

I too grew up as a camper and as fast as I got in those campground showers/backwoods solar showers, I can honestly say it was never two minutes. I call foul on the time. Perhaps if I had a shaved head and used an all in one shampoo/conditioner/body soap (think dog soap/backpacking soap)...maybe... Growing up my friend's parents put a limit on their water heater (details unknown) and it only produced tepid water for five minutes. Talk about motivational for quick showering. Showering there was a well timed dance - step in, turn on water, rinse quickly, turn off water, apply soap/shampoo/face soap, shave, turn on water, rinse quickly and done. We always joked you wanted to leap out of the shower and slap a timer in triumph.

I have realized that I can either shave or wash my hair but not both in the same shower due to time.

Face washing and body every time, shaving every other time, and hair every four shower or so...I can actually go that long on my hair before it needs washing.

I usually spend 5 to 10 minutes...10 if my back is bothering me and the hot water is needed to loosen it up for the day.

I'm a bather. I take a bubble bath every night. My hair is extremely dry, so I only wash it about once every 6 days. Then I shower, and it takes awhile because my hair is pretty long right now, and very thick. It takes me longer than 2 minutes just to rinse my hair.
