Two Fun Questions

1) How often do you vacuum out your car. I mean, REALLY get in there in all the crevices. And

2) What are some interesting things you've found?

(In the old days when my kids were little, I vacuumed out the car probably monthly, usually finding enough french fries to feed an entire third world country. Now the youngest is 15, so it's more like once/twice a year (today, btw). Last year I found my oldest's LONG lost cell phone (like lost 3 years ago). So now it's just sand from the last trip to the beach, and pine needles from the last Christmas tree, sigh.)

Have a great day all!

:)

What can I do next?

This isnt fun Theresa, its embarrassing!

Lets see, I have had my car for over a year and havent vacuumed it yet. : /

Found lots of interesting things though. Still have yet to find the brand new pair of eye glasses for my daughter that my car swallowed. Still makes me mad!

My kids dont eat in the car though, so that helps!

Enough fish crackers to feed an army and usually something really gross like a chewed up piece of gum, nasty old tissue - my kids are such epic slobs. :-)

I aim for at least once a month

I am horrible about vacuuming out my car! It's like twice a year. Yuck. Once I found a little black ball. I was thinking, "Where did this come from?" It was WAY up under my seat. Hmmm then I noticed...it had a stem. EWWW EWWW EWWW I just found an old nectarine! I so thought I was going to throw up.

Sure, I can find that but not the emerald bracelet that fell off my wrist a few years ago. :/

Every time I take it to the fancy car wash they vacuum it out. Oh, me? I have never vacuumed my car. :p

When that guy rear ended me a couple months ago I had fun going through all the things I thought I had lost. The best was the umbrella I couldn't find in forever!

LOL, T!

Well, I have a 9 year old an we spend a fair amount of time "in transit" so I TRY to vacuum it out every month. That's also about how often I zip through a car wash, too.

I find interesting stuff--hot sauce schmears, french fries, chewed gum so hard it's not sticking in the carpet, Kleenex wads to the 10th power, lollipop sticks, pencils, Sharpies, odd molded plastic thingamabobbers from somewhere deep under the seats that belong somewhere, I suppose, convenience store receipts out the wazoo, a stale cig, Squishies, an odd silly bandz, the occasional penny, dime, nickel, quarter, and recently, a teeny tiny AK-47! :)

(How's that for a run-on sentence!)

I'm seriously scared to get all the crevices! With a 6 3/4 (yes I was informed the other day she is 6 and 3/4 years old)...and a 4 yr old. I'm sure there are things growing in those crevices!

But I do vaccum the open areas once a month. Since we practically live in the car these days.

Most interesting? hmm, I bet I would find the Daisy petal we are missing...but still too scared to look so I'll just buy a new one!

I know mine gets a basic vacuum at least every three months (when I take it for an oil change). I will vacuum it after long car trips to be sure there aren't any fallen snacks.

My daughter is a neat freak like me and doesn't leave anything in there. She takes out all her toys when we get to our destination.

Now my husband’s truck is a different story. I recently found a pack of very old cigarettes under the seat (I know they were old because they fell apart when I opened it, I wanted to see if he was sneaking them). He quit smoking over three years ago. I stopped looking after that I was afraid that something would pull me in.

Once a year.

I found one large, wild, ornate earring that didn't belong to me... or either of my 2 sons. No other girls had ridden in my car, only my older women friends who wouldn't wear an earring like that. It was way in the back (3rd) seat where only kids can sit when there are too many for the front 2 rows. Anyway, all I hauled were boys. I carried the earring around in my purse for months trying to find the owner, and asked anyone who might be remotely related to someone who had ridden in my car. Nada. Till I remembered that I helped a girlfriend move. She's in her 20's and I took a load of her clothes in my car, yup, the earring must have been in her pile of stuff. She was happy to get her earring back!

About 4 times a year. Always right when the weather starts to warm up after our looong Utah winter, a couple of times in the summer after camping and beach trips since we get so much sand and dirt in there, and then at the end of October to prepare again for the loooong Utah winter :) Mostly I find candy, random jellybeans, Nerds being the most common (yes, we are candy-holics). I also find a lot of pens and crayons since the kids color in the car. Occasionally a quarter. Nothing too fun and crazy!

I vaccuum it a couple times a year - before the weather gets cold, then about this time when it warming up again. Hmmm, I guess I'd better get out there.

I've found Christmas mugs under the seats and all kids of wrappers, crumbs and hair ties.

I vaccuum it out about once a month! It's crazy in there! I have found the obvious, food, and things of mine that "dissapeared", hmmm, interesting things...well nothing really, but it's funny the things your kids stash in the car!

Ususally twice... spring and fall.

It amazes me the amount of garbage that can hide in a car - especially when you have 3rd row and rarely ever go back there (my son apparently hides all his stuff back there).

I try to keep my car vaccuumed at least once a month..... we have a gravel driveway, and it gets tracked in my car all the time!! Plus, the car wash I go to has free vaccuums!! If I had to pay for it, I would be doing it a lot less often!! LOL Sadly, I don't find anything really strange in my car, just gravel and dust from the driveway.

My husband takes out the seats to vacuum the cars. Suits me just fine since I can't stand driving a dirty car. He does this often enough we never find anything interesting. Before we married I vacuumed and washed my car by hand about once a week. It's a thing in our house. Fortunately it's a collective thing so we don't fuss about it. I think the trick is being consistent about the cleaning so it's never a huge ordeal. We drive small cars which helps too. Happy Wednesday to all.

1) A few times a year, maybe every 4 months or so.
2) Nothing too spectacular but definitely gross. Socks, sometimes a baby bottle, a diaper, cheerios, lollipop sticks, once or twice an apple core - eww, change, baby toys, happy meal toys, wrappers for various things, empty juice boxes, once or twice hardened partial cheese sticks. Yup a regular wheeling biohazard. (In my defense, it is not usually ALL of the above at one time! LOL!)
Right now the car is nice and clean, hubbs vacuumed it a couple weeks ago.

We do about the same, once or twice a year, before a long trip.

I found a music stand, a gallon of milk unopened, a very overdue library book (like 8 months), pairs of reading glasses, textbooks, hoodies, jeans, soccer shoes (after buying another pair), half eaten ChikFilA, my husband's Discover card and the list goes on and on.
I''m sure there is stuff in there now, but we bought me a new car so I haven't been in the van in 3 months to know what might be there.

Ummmm....I vacuumed it last year. (Yuck! I know)

It is in for a major vacuuming. I found a whole box of spilled popcorn from the circus the in the way back. Had no idea it was back there. Ugh...kids.

I can't wait to have a clean vehicle. I've banned juice boxes as the last time I found one squeezed out in the center counsel between the two captain chairs.

I clean my car of stuff every day. I hate clutter so everything that does not belong gets taken out. The only things left in the car are my sunglasses, the baby's car seat, and the emergency road side kit. In the winter a blanket.

I vacuum it every month. For some odd reason I am a fanatic about clean cars.

Usually only when I smell something gross. "Oh, so there's that sippy of chocolate milk from a month ago!"
I usually find a whole lot of church papers, directions to different freecycle addresses, red bull cans, candy wrappers and granola bar pieces from church.
