Twins? - Fleming Island,FL

Well this is week 28 and I know that I'm having a little girl and everythng, but sometimes it seems like there might be two in there. Idunno is it because she's getting bigger but I can feel like two different "kicks" in two totally different spots (one really low and one under my breastbone). Also I'm way bigger with her than I ever was with my two boys. I love to say it's just a different baby but what do you think? And is it something to discuss with my SO and OB or just let it go?

What can I do next?

She could be stretching. You will carry differently with each pregnancy; none are alike. How many times have you listened to the heartbeats? Did they do a thorough US? While it's possible one could be hiding behind another, chances are slim if you've had vaginal and abdominal scans done, as well as listened to the heart rates several times, that one was missed. My guess is just that she's stretching.

I'm not sure there is a way, they couldn't have seen twins already. Especially, since you've had the ultrasound, to find she is a girl. I guess anything is possible, though. Ask your Dr.

There were times I could feel my son sicking in 4 different places. His arms and legs would flail. I only had one and no quadruplets :) I suspect your baby girl is kicking and punching, at the same time.

If she's your 3rd it could just be that your body is 'popping' out faster because its your 3rd. You should be scheduled for an ultrasound soon and they can verify, but your OB should be doing heartbeat checks and heard a 2nd hb by now if its twins.

With my thrid I was huge in comparrison to my first 2 boys. She was smaller when born then either of my 2 boys even. Are you sure it's kicks? I remember shoulders feeling very much like kicks and those elbows, knees and hands can be very pokie and move around just as much as those little feet do. At 28 weeks I don't see how they would have missed a twin honestly.

Doesn't hurt to bring it up - your OB will check it out and can let you know for sure. Technology is so advanced these days that I'm sure they would have spotted two on previous ultrasounds (assuming you've had one). But then - who knows - stranger things have happened!

Best wishes either way!!

you need to discuss it in case it happens are you sure you didnt feel a hand and a foot? if twins run in the family you may be right. they skip a generation.

I would have them check at your next appt for sure. Do not let it go because birthing can be dangerous. She might just be turning at this point to head down. Babies actually walk around the womb to get into position anywhere from 28-? weeks. That may be what you are feeling.

I assume you had an ultrasound to see it was a girl. How would they not see another baby? I had twins and they could tell from super early in the first trimester from an ultrasound.
