I do not have twins, but I two children and they are born 2 years and 11 days apart, so since they are young, I do their parities together still to save time and money. They are the opposite sex, so eventually this will no longer work. For my son's first birthday, it was close friends and family at my mom's house. I had a pinata for the older kids and the babies just liked baby toys and playing with each other. Even with a small party at my mom's house, my son was overwhelmed and cried most of the party. On the opposite end of the spectrum, my friend threw her one year old a princess pool/bouncy castle party with lots of people. It was way more expensive then mine and way more crowded and the childs reaction was the same......crying most of the party. The truth is the first birthday is always more for the parents then the child. They wont remember it and the majority of the time from what I have seen react badly the majority of the time anyway. With a four year old and a two year old, I can already say that each year, birthdays seem to get more expensive. Do yourself a favor and save some money this year. The memories will still be the same.
