Hello Ladies,

I wanted to take this opportunity and to reach out in hopes to get some suggestions about Turks and Cacois Island. I am taking my kids to a vacation to the Beaches resort, and wanted to see whether anyone has any suggestions of where else we could go on the islands and what to see. If anyone has stayed at the Beaches resort, your suggestions would also be appreciated.

It sounds like your kids may be old enough to experience The Hole. It's awesome. Also the caves on Middle Caicos are cool. The beach on Middle Caicos is the most beautiful and dramatic I have seen anywhere in the world. However, it's a bit far (although I'm not exactly sure where Beaches is) and there's not much else there, except the caves. Check out tripadvisor.com for more ideas. I'm sure it would be a great holiday just staying at the resort. Just know that, like almost all islands, it's not entirely safe to walk along the roads, especially at night. (for fear of being hit by cars, otherwise, it's completely safe there). If you feel like splurging, you can hire a boat to take you out and find sand dollars and catch lobsters and cook them up on the beach. The resort may offer something like this. Have a fantastic time. I'm so jealous!

You're going to have a great time. We went a couple of years ago with our 20-month-old daughter. There are lots of activities, and as teenagers, your kids will have lots to do and won't need a babysitter so you'll have lots of free time. The food is good, and the staff is helpful. We did a couple of snorkling trips, but you can literally walk down the beach to a great reserve and snorkle there too. The sand is so white and soft, ahhhhh. Makes me want to go back.

As for other stuff to do on the island, we mostly hung out at the resort. We did take a taxi to a small shopping center and walk around to some new condo offices, but didn't really venture beyond that. From our short trip to the shopping center and our boating trips around the island, it was clear that most of the island is made up of resorts, condos, and some small houses. Having a baby, and being 4 months pregnant, we didn't really pursue other places, but maybe you'll have more luck.

No suggestions but my friend took her three children(8 and younger) there in Sept to that resort and had a wonderful time. I don't even think she left the resort. The kids had a blast and she came back very relaxed. Hope you have a great time
