my 2 1/2 yr old has tubes in his ears. The last 2 nights he has been crying alot at night like he is hurting. I think his tubes might be falling out. he has no fever or anyother symptoms. I am trying to find a doctor in the town I just moved to that is a pediatrician that can tell me if its the tubes or something else. my oldest wasa old enough to tell me his ears hurt this one doesnt talk well enough to tell me that. I dont want to do an ent in case it is something else. is there a way of telling if his tubes are falling out?

What can I do next?

My daughters tubes stuck out a bit, so if I looked inside, I could see them. It didn't hurt her when they came out and they actually were caught by the ear wax and stayed inside her ear for a while, even though they were no longer in the ear drum.

Both of my girls have tubes and they have came out with no pain. Maybe he has an ear infection or something. Maybe some Motrin for pain at night until you can get him in to see the doctor.

Hope this helps.

when my daughter's tubes fell out they didn't hurt. we didn't know they had fallen out until next visit at ped's over something else. in fact one of her tubes had gotten stuck in ear canal, yet no pain.
so it must be something else. take him to the pediatricians, or medexpress, or express care etc just to see what's wrong.
could he be teething?

Hmm ... this previous tubes post might help ease your worries, but I would still call the ENT that put them in and discuss with them who to see now, you never know who other people know
