Does anyone have any issues with staying pregnant. I have had 5 miscarriages. I can get pregnant, but can't sustain! Also, anyone who has a good OB/gyn/ fertility dr on staten island , NY? Any info will be helpful, I am on baby aspirin, extra folic acid and multi vitamin. I have been diagnosed with Thrombophilia and MTHFR. I was under the are of Dr. Kofinas in Brooklyn but he told me in Sept 2008 ..it is unexplained. I am currently under the care of Dr. Moretti in staten island and I have been taking 2x a day fish oil,to help with inflammation. I appreciate all the info I can get. Thanks!

Same thing happened to me.. I just couldn't take it again.. so we adopted 2 healthy babies from Korea through Holt Adoption Agency.. have been very happy ever since. Good luck... My dr. couldn't find anything wrong.. and each time I miscarried.. it was always between 10 and 12 weeks.. Good luck..

I tell you my short story- I had over 3 miscarriages and 1 really bad pregnancy. I talk to him about my problems and he automatically from day one place me into high risk, took really care of me and when I called the staff place me right in his office, bring me in- The reason I do not want to go into details because I do not want to discourage you so but I got threw it. I had a bad experience but if it was not my doctor my son will not be here today. Look at his website and see if you can get into the office.

I used Defazio obgyn and they have an office in Brooklyn but they also has an office in Staten Island at 2889 Amboy Rd. There are 3 brothers in the practice Greg, Andrew and Mark. I did not have any pregnancy problems so I don't know how they are with your particular situation. I hope all goes well for you and I wish you the very best.

i highly recommend you see an RE-reproductive endocrinologist not an OB since you are having difficulties-later you can go to a good high risk ob gyn after a pregnancy is viable. they will be able to tell you where the problem is and a course of tx.

I don't know much about the two conditions you mentioned, though I was also on asprin because I have a genetic high risk for blood clots. My obgyn will tell you that going on the asprin was what saved my third pregnancy, but I don't believe it. I didn't take any with my fourth, and everything went fine. The obgyn didn't buy the hypothesis, but I'm inclined to agree with my allergist...My two miscarriages were becase of my asthema. He's had six patients that he knows of who all had very mild, untreated asthema and multiple misscarriages. As soon as we started treating the asthema, we all had successful pregnancies. His hypothesis is that the body dumps the pregnancy becase it isn't getting enough oxygen to support both the fetus and the mother. Makes a lot of sense, no?

Of course, it may be that none of this is your situation, but it can't hurt to check.

All the best.

I was in the same boat (I now have a 7 yr and 2 yr old). I used Dr. Kofinas. There are two offices - one is located in Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn and the other is 4855 Hylan Blvd, SI ###-###-####. The practice is two brothers - one helps get you pregnant and the other helps you stay pregnant! The website is http://www.kofinasfertility.com

He has been ranked one of the best doctors in The New York Best Doctor issue for at least 15 years in a row.

Good Luck!

A good doctor on Staten Island is Dr. Herzhog. I am not sure where his office is now, he used to be on Richmond Road when I lived on Staten Island. He diagnosed my problems, then I moved to New Jersey and found another doctor, but I wouldn't have my two kids if it weren't for him. He has an excellent bedside manner as well.

A relative of mine had repeated miscarriages. Turns out it was a blood-clotting issue. She took anti-clotting meds and was able to have kids.
