Hi, nothing wrong with metro, I have it and I use it for all my calling. I have a pre paid virgin mobile phone for when I leave the metro area (which is getting larger). I also go back and forth between att dsl and comcast's internet as they always have specials and incentives. Comcast has $19.99 a month for 6 months pretty often, they after that time you either stick with it or switch to att dsl and keep that for 3 months and then switch back to comcast. att gives you $100 if you switch to them and comcast gives you something too. Just down your att phone to a minimum for emergencies like a hurricane or some other power outage.
I am not a tv person, I have a nearly 6 year old and she rarely watches tv, I wouldn't have cable if it wasn't included in the maintenance here. They can watch a video if you want them to watch something. You will save a lot of money without all that jazz.
Food... beans, rice and other grains are very inexpensive, green leafy veggies and fruits go on sale. Nuts too. They are all we need in a healthy diet.
Good luck
