Trying to Get Pregnant - San Angelo,TX

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I had an IUD in for about 2 yrs, and got it out in Dec. A couple days after that I started my period, and had a pretty normal cycle. Then I didn't have a period for a little over a month. During that time, I had several of the symptoms that come along with being pregnant, but took several tests that all said I wasn't. Then I finally started again in Feb, and was a couple of days late to start this month. Again before I started I had the same symptoms that go along with being pregnant. The ones I was having are engorged feeling breast, and a slight sickness feel. There was also times that I could feel weird movement in my stomach.
My question is..... Is my head just playing weird games on me? Am I going mental? lol Also, if some of you have had an IUD before how long did it take your body to adjust and get pregnant again?
Thank you

What can I do next?

I would consider Clear Blue monitor. It makes it much easier to know what days to have intercourse. You can still make it fun but it will just be convenient and take out some of the worry and obsessing that comes with TTC. Good luck.

You can in fact make your body have pregnancy symptoms.

I too am trying to get pregnant and every month I swear I have the symptoms but I am not pregnant. And one month I was so late that I swore I had to be pregnant (I was 5 days late!).....This month my plan is to just not worry about it (though of course I am already thinking my boobs hurt!).

Phantom pregnancy is a very real thing. There were many months I felt pregnant because I wanted to be. I have had 5 pregnancies and I can tell you that all the times I felt pregnant I was not and all the times I was pregnant, I did not feel pregnant. Frequent urination and soar breasts are the only symptom I had before a missed period. Nausea does not kick in until week 6, maybe week 5 but certainly not before a missed period. I cannot tell you how many times i have felt the sensation of a baby in my belly! But there again, most woman can't feel it until week 18 unless you are very familiar with the sensation and then just maybe week 14, but before your missed period the baby is smaller than a sesame seed, so be certain those feelings are just gas. So yes, its in your head, but you are not the only one. I always felt so pregnant when I wasn't. Just wait, the month you don't feel pregnant is the month you will be pregnant. And pick up a book called "taking charge of your fertility". I cannot believe some of the basic tell tails signs of ovulation I knew nothing about! Have fun trying.

I think we can all manifest pregnancy type symptoms because we want to be pregnant so badly. I know I did! My best advice is to get a digital fertility monitor. We struggled trying to get pregnant with our first child, thought we may have infertility issues because we were in our mid-thirties when we got started. We took several fertility tests, I took clomid and we did a few IUI's. Not successful. We finally backed off a little and got pregnant on our own. The second time around, my hairdresser suggested using a monitor. It took the guesswork out of everything! I was pregnant in the second month of using the monitor. It is actually written on the package that the first month is pretty much a wash because it takes at least one cycle for the monitor to sync with your body's natural rhythm. So amazing. My kids are 16.5 months apart. Turns out we didn't have fertility problems. We just needed to know when our "go time" was during the month. A monitor will give you that information. Good luck!

Yes, we often make our body have symptoms we want them to. Most women I've met who are actively trying to get pregnant, think they have symptoms.

Pregnancy symptoms and period symptoms are exactly the same except for one major important one. If you are pregnant, you will only spot or may not even bleed at all. If you are just having your period, you will bleed. I boobs get soooooo sore EVERY time I go through my cycle. They usually start hurting halfway through my cycle, and then the pain fades away just before I start bleeding. Sometimes, not every time, but sometimes I also feel like throwing up in the morning. As for the movement you feel, I feel that too, but I haven't really noticed a pattern in when I feel it. It just kind of feels that way whenever. It feels like a muscle spasm kind of. I know a few other women I've talked to have the same sensation too. Every time I feel it, it reminds me of when I was pregnant because it kind of feels the same, but if you are pregnant, you are not going to be feeling the baby move for at least 12 weeks, and by that point someone as vigilant as you will know already if you are pregnant. I would recommend doing what Marie suggested. Get an ovulation kit, and then keep track of when you guys have sex.

Good luck!

My friend got pregnant a week after having an IUD removed. I have one now and my doc. told me that when I am ready to have my second child, I will be fertile as soon as it's removed.
