Trying to Find a Good Hair Colorist in NW Phx, Glendale, Peoria Area

My mom is coming to visit from out-of-state. She normally colors her own hair but I'd like to treat her to getting her hair properly colored while she's here. Since I've never had my hair colored, I could use some advice. She likes highlights but would probably need all-over color as well. How much does this cost? The place I called starts at $155 for color and partial highlights. Is that normal? Do you have any suggestions for an excellent colorist? Would all-over-color without highlights look good?

What can I do next?

I'm in Phoenix and the going rate is $58 for haircolour. Many places are very good here, especially David Pang who owns "State of the Art" at Camelback and 24th street, nice to walk around biltmore area shops after too. Another in this hood is Mara Rambo at "Backstreet Hair" on 7th street and Palo Verde. It is a bit of a dive but she colors well.

I go to Head Cases salon, its owned by Cheryl Mussmann and she does my hair. She has her own little salon in the building on 59th and Bell. Here is her number ###-###-####. Give her a call and see how much she charges, I am pretty sure its goingt obe cheaper then what you were quoted and she sometimes has specials for first time clients. She also does facials and massages. I have been going to her for over 5 years and getting my hair colored and cut and she always makes me look wonderful, I have never been disappointed.

I think the place that quoted you I think that is to much money for that, you could simply color hair yourself for cheaper than that, I am not sure where you should go..., but i think it depends on how the person hair is if they will look better with high lights or all color, but they both work, i always color my own hair and i just do one color, n it comes out pretty good.
