Tripp Trapp Vs. Euro II Highchairs

I've been looking at wooden fedding chairs for awhile now and can't make up my mind. I'm interested in the Tripp Trapp and I've read all great things about Tripp Trapp. But there is a similar version out there called "Euro II highchair". I found the Euro II in the One Step Ahead catalog. I was wondering how that compares with the Tripp Trapp. I know TT is definitely more expensive. I've read all glowing reviews for the Tripp Trapp. What I like about these chairs is that it grows with your child. The TT can hold up to 300 lbs and the Euro II can hold up to 150 lbs. Anyone out there own either of these chairs? I would love to hear your feedback. My son is 15 months old and we've been using the Fisher Price booster seat for both in-home and out-of-home mealtimes.

What can I do next?

I have the Tripp-Trapp chair for my son who is now 20 months old. I love the way it looks but I hate it from a functional standpoint although it could be due to things only my son does. He likes to constantly push himself away from the table and is strong enough to push the whole chair two or more feet away from the table. This results in food being dropped in the space between him and the table. I have to either pull him back up to the table three or four times per meal or I will try to hold the chair up to the table with my feet, which is not comfortable and also results in him screaming b/c he is frustrated not to be able to move as he pleases. It makes me wish we had a chair with a tray so he could not move away from his food. Also, one time the buckle appeared clasped and wasn't entirely locked into place and one side fell open and he was dangling upside down hanging from the other side! Fortunately, I was right there to grab him but it scared me. Again, it is a very good looking chair however I am going to buy a more traditional high chair for the next baby due in a couple of months.

I have the Euro II and LOVE it. I bought two of them for my kids when my son was 2 and my daughter was 1. I used the front bar on my daughter at first, but I took it off when she was around 14 mos b/c I decided she really didn't need it anymore. She is an absolute maniac, btw, and always tries to climb out of the highchair, but I actually feel safer with her in the EII chair b/c she is capable of safely getting up and down into it, so I don't worry about her diving out of it like she did the highchair (shudder!). I have them adjusted to different heights, based on their individual needs, and both my kids really like them. They clean up SO easily (yay!) and are totally sturdy. Even my DH, who is really picky about sturdiness, etc, gave me a thumbs up on the chairs. We plan to get another soon for our litte one on the way, and once he's sitting up on his own I'll use it for him, too.

GL! The EII is about $100 cheaper than the TT, and I've never been disappointed in something I bought from One Step Ahead. It has a wide selection of colors, too. I will say this -- I found the straps to be completely useless, but I think I really don't understand how to use them properly, either. Even so, like I said, I found that I felt "safer" with my DD being able to climb in and out anyway, since otherwise she will wiggle her way out of straps and then go flying out of the chair.

I don't know much about the chairs, but I would save your money at this point. My son was done with a highchair at 18 months and with a booster by 2. He wanted to be in the same chairs as the rest of us. If your son is doing well in the booster, you may want to just leave him there.

We have a TT and we LOVE IT!!! My daugther is not over 3 and a half and is about 43lbs and can get in and out of it by herself. If she climbs in it from the back it won't even budge on tipping (not that I let her do this if I am watching) just saying it is super durable, sturdy etc. We purchased the tray and it is great and when we don't want to use it we take it off and put it up to the table. The tray is also big enough for when they are little for painting/crafts etc. Good Luck! PS, we bought our used on craigslist!
