Ok, sorry for the graphic nature of this question, but I gotta see if any of you ladies have any input. I decided to skip my last period, or I should say I tried. I am on Sprintec and have been for over a year now. Anyways, this last period I wanted to skip because I was going to be on a vacation and didn't want to have to deal with it. I got the OK from my doctor who said to just skip your sugar pills and start in with your new cycle. So that's what I did. I would have normally started my period last Tuesday the 13th. Well I got spotting, nothing like a regular period, but I'm still spotting today over a week later!!! UGH. My normal periods run from Tuedays until Friday which is when I either go onto my normal pills or go onto my sugar pills prior to starting. Is this ever gonna end or anyone have any suggestions on how to make it stop???

My doctor always says if you bleed for over a week, you need to stop taking your pills, allow the "period" to come, and then begin again as normal after it has finished. That never worked for me either...sorry you are going through it.
I've done that a few times over the years, sometimes with success and sometimes with the same spotting results. There's nothing you can do to stop it, just continue with this pack of pills until you hit the sugar pills again and you should have a real period then. There have been times when I've done this and haven't gotten my period when I got to the sugar pills on the second pack, but spotted off and on the next week (first week of pack 3). Just keep taking your pills regularly and your body will work it all out. Good luck!
I tried to do that with my pills for my honeymoon, I ended getting my period instead!!! I was so mad! LOL! I just continued my pills as normal and it eventually cleared up. It did seem to last a long time though.
Unfortunately you have messed with your cycle. It's hard to say when it will work itself out. I don't understand trying to skip a period. When I was on the pill, I worked my vacations and wedding around when I knew I was going to get it! That was one of the beauties of being on the pill! I had three weeks a month I could plan things and KNOW it wouldn't be THAT time of month.
REALLY! I hate my period as much as the next person, but it was put there for a reason. Periods are normal. You're trying to make your body act abnormal. You are asking for trouble. The pill has been linked to so many very serious illnesses and even death. I would get off the pill.
