Hello Mamas, are there any Buffalo Moms / Dads out there? We're traveling to Buffalo this weekend for my son's football team. Not really happy about traveling this distance for a football game but I got over ruled on it. So, I'm looking for a good place to stay and possibly something fun to do with the kids tomorrow after the game so it will make it seem like we're not just traveling that far for a game that will be over in 90mins!
Anyway, his game is being played at Johnnie B Wiley Stadium. I tried to google where the closest hotels were but honestly, a bunch of stuff popped up on a map and I wasn't really able to make sense of which ones were the closest. We don't need anything extravagent - just something with an indoor pool. Most of the team is staying at an Econolodge that doesn't have a pool so we're not staying with them.

TIA and have a great weekend!

How old is the kiddo?
You could stay by the airport or near walden galleria; they have some hotels that would fit the bill, like holiday inn express. Also in West Seneca the staybridge or new country inn and suites are good options. Both with a pool and breakfast. None are right by the stadium; I don't think there is anything really close to although there might be some newer ones now. I wouldn't stay in Niagara Falls or East Aurora; too far.
Malls aren't that great but Galleria is pretty good if you just want to have a relaxing stroll in there. There are some restaurants inside and around it too. The Buffalo museum of science is a pretty good activity for most ages. They are open on the weekend. The zoo could always entertain and it's not a bad zoo. They have an awesome Bison exhibit which I don't see at other zoos much and they have a young gorilla - he was a baby when we were there a few years ago, and the 3 lions are pretty neat when you hear them roar from the other side of the zoo. :) The allbright knox art museum is supposed to be one of the best around although I don't know how much the kiddo would like that. There is also a nice botanical garden which is walking distance to a basilica church with lots of statues and beautiful roman architecture and a green area around the museum where you could walk a little. The church is not just a church it is really quite interesting as an add on thing to do before or after the botanical garden trip and you can just walk through at your leisure because it's free and usually open. Niagara falls might be a lot to take on in a short trip unless you have a day to devote. But well worth seeing if you've never been. Hope you have a great time and pm me or ask on here if you need or want any more info.

Are you a member of AAA? They have a free travel service, hotel ratings, etc. They'll make the reservations for you. Let them know your budget, whether you want a place with a buffet continental breakfast or not, etc.

Niagara Falls is kind of the go-to place but there are many other options. AAA will probably have discount tickets and other deals for other attractions - give them the ages of the other kids.

When we visit my Mom (she lives south of Buffalo), we stay at the Hampton Inn in East Aurora.
That's probably too far south for your purposes.
There are plenty of places with indoor pools near Niagara Falls - and plenty of things to do on the Canadian side - just bring your passports.
