We are driving from IL to Tampa Florida three boys 9, 6, and 2- any ideas on fun things to keep the kids busy/occupied in the car.
Are you going to stop in Chattanooga? If you have 2 hours - I would highly recommend you see the aquarium there - it is spectacular!
These are some of the things that my family did when we drove cross country to California with our 2 year old. Books on tape/cd, kid music, books, magnetic games (so you don't lose the pieces...either make your own or I know that they sell them), play I Spy or Car Bingo. Hope this helps.

I traveled with my family a few years ago to Florida via SUV. We had a wonderful time! We took our time and really enjoyed the drive. We did do some planning as far as the trip itself to make it less stressful for the chidlren.
First, we left at midnight so they could sleep as long as possible to make sure when they woke it would be time for breakfast and a break. We stopped for food and allowed them to play for about 45 minutes, bathroom break and hit the road. We did bring along a dvd player and had all their favorite movies and music that they enjoyed. After several hours we stopped again for a snack and more play again for 45 minutes. When we loaded up again, they were sleep for hours.
The most important thing is to take the necessary breaks and allow them to burn off the anticipation. We had a great time driving and I really got a chance to bond with hubby and the children.
Drive during the night when they are sleeping.
We have neighbors who drive all the time and never fly. I don't understand that but their trick is to leave at bedtime when children are ready for bed and drive all night.
Driving at night doesn't work for us, but I know it does for a lot of people. Plan to stop every two hours to stretch, etc. Try www.momsminivan.com for some ideas.
