Transitioning Baby with Nanny

I have a part time nanny that has been with us for years. My 4 1/2 year old son loves her and she has become part of our family. We have an 11 week old baby and I am trying to transition back to work part-time. The problem is, once the nanny tries to give her a bottle, she screams and screams, sometimes for an hour or more till she falls asleep. She takes bottles from me and my husband, but nobody else. This has been going on for 2 weeks. Any advice?? This happens even when I have been gone for a couple of hours.....

What can I do next?

Make yourself scarce when the nanny is trying to feed your baby. Babies know who/what they like and will put up a fuss to get it. It's pretty common for babies to 'play strange' and it's important for your nanny to not take it personally. Just keep trying and I'm sure she'll get used to the 'new' routine soon enough.

I was pretty much in the same position you were a few months ago. My second child preferred to only have milk from M.. After a while it did get better and he got use to the nanny. It seemed to be less of a problem if I was not around. If you are working from home and your baby sees you she will probably resist taking a bottle from the nanny. Try and stay out of her sight before she gets her bottle and see if that helps.

Good Luck!

If your baby is hungry, they will eat. It may take getting used to but it will happen. You just have to let it happen and not "save" your baby when you don't think they will eat.

:You did say if this was a problem with you in the room.
Perhaps if you do some trial run of going away for sometime. The problem
will go away.
