I'm trying to get my 11 mo. old to eat more table food. Most days she wants nothing to do with even trying different things. How can I get her to eat more table food. I'd really like to get her off baby food sometime this summer.

What can I do next?

Just keep offering them. Offer something at every meal. You're bound to find something that she really likes and even prefers to the baby food. If nothing else, by offering a bit at every meal, she slowly get use to it. Just be patient...she'll get there on her own time.

I have a 11 mouth old at home and i tell u what.... he is a pig lol My girls are older and i tottally forgot when u start feeding them more solids then they always want ur plate lol. Anyways we started him off with easy things like mashed pototos and cottage cheese. Then when he learned to mash and not gag we tried noodles and stuff. His favorite is cheese puffs yummie. Anyways my question is does ur child eat the same time u guys dooo. I know some times parents feed their child like right before or after everyone. Maybe try sitting her up with u guys like at the table or something. They see u are eating it and then they might want it. I even make the big mistake sometimes of feeding him off my plate cause sometimes its easier. ( which i probably shouldn't do) just an idea.

I have a daughter that was born in May 2006 as well and we have slowly been putting things in front of her to eat. I know that it helps having a older child because she sees what her big sister (almost 3) eats, and wants to feel big. I would suggest starting with fruit and soft things like noodles that she can pick up on her own. Babies sometimes have a hard time with the gag reflex, but over time this problem goes away. Have you tried any of the Gerber Graduates pasta pick ups? I have given those to Lily, but cut them up more.

Be patient. Your daughter will transition to table food in her own time. My daughter gagged on anything chunky for long time.. now at 16 months she eats everything with no problems..

Keep offering food.. but dont worry about it if she doesnt eat it... the first foods that she ate were canned peaches and pears that were easy to manage..

I gave my girls frozen peas and they loved them. They loved the cold texture. They still will eat them straight out of the freezer today at 5 and 7 years old. When they got older I let them have frozen lima beans.
What you get them started on now will probably stick through there lives forever.

Something you might want to try is incorporating solids with the baby food, like if you're feeding her baby food green beans mix chunks of green beans in with it. Or even slightly mashing what ever you've made the rest of the family for dinner. Giving her the familiarity of the baby food whilst introducing solids at the same time. Good Luck :)
