Anyone have experience good or bad with Transition Lens? Seems like I have to wear my glasses all the time now so thought Transition Lens might be the way to go. Worried about them being too dark in the bright office. Any advice? Also where is the best place to get them?
Thanks for all your help,

What can I do next?

Hi, I've had the transition lenses for yrs now. I never need prescription sunglasses as the transitions are excellent for my use. They get darker the longer they're exposed to bright light. They also lighten up over time once inside - but I'm talking a few minutes. I LOVE them and highly recommend them to you! I use ALPHA OPTICAL in Frisco at Preston and Main St.

I am sure twins keeps you busy. That has lots to do with you being tired. I was taking vitamins in pill form until I heard from a gastroenterologist that they find tablets embedded in the colon well past the digestion state. Switched to liquid vitamins and found lots of energy. Many of my friends reported that as well when they started drinking the little serving per day. They wanted to try it just seeing the dfference in me. I am a grandmother of 2 and one on the way. Try taking a liquid vitamin and mineral supplement. Works for me. I can keep up with my grandchildren, age 3 and 1. The new one will be here in July!

I take a good one if you can't find one. You can call me if you need help finding one. This one is safe for age 2 up. Even our two dogs take a small serving of it. We just don't eat all we should to get what our body needs. ###-###-####. A.

I got transition lenses last fall and so far like them just fine. They darken when I go walking outside, but not much when I drive somewhere, and not at all inside even in bright light. I had prescription sunglasses, but was always leaving them somewhere, so this is a better solution for me.
I got mine from Dr. Tony Tao in Allen. He was very particular about getting my vision prescription just right.

I had some several years ago and I hated them. It took forever for them to get light again when I would come back inside.

I got them for my daughter last year and she loves them! They lighten up very quickly. The only thing I don't like about them is when she had her cheerleading photos taken outside under a gazebo, they were sightly darkened. But other than that they're great! We got them at Wal-mart and they were $50 extra. Good luck!

They will not darken in an office, UV light is mostly filtered by glass, so even if there are a ton of windows (like in a car) they will not darken. Yes, this means that they do not darken in the car enough for most people. They adjust their tint to the amount of light available from the sun. On a bright day they will be dark, on a cloudy day, not so dark. They do have a learning curve and need to be exposed to darkness and light repeatedly to reach their full darkness when you first get them, but after a couple of weeks, you should be happy with the results you get. Most optical shops offer Transition lenses, just ask for them by name.

I love transitional lens. If you have a Costco membership, their costs for quality have been rated the best by Consumer Report. I purchased some there for my daughter, and the total cost was less than our deductible at other optical shops.

I have these. The darkness of Transiton lenses goes completely away inside so there should be no problem there. Also they will not stay dark inside a car because there is UV protection on your wind shield or something to keep the transitions from staying dark. Driving is mainly when I wanted sunglasses. In my opinion they don't get dark enough. I would not get them again. But I do have a seperate pair of prescription sun glasses that are as dark as I like so that is what I would do.

Hi L.,

I have them. From my experience they would not be to dark in a bright office. You pretty much have to be in direct sunlight for them to darken. Hope that helps!
