Trampoline Question for Trampoline Owners:

MY son has O. and the only time he uses it is when his friends are here. The novelty wore off pretty quick.

Yes. Accidents can happen. Accidents also happen on a bike, skateboard, swingset, walking across a street, playing Soccer, Etc. .. You get my gist

In 100* + and heat index of 106*-120* no, they are not allowed on the trampoline.
So it sits waiting for lower temps.
Which has been a blessing because they want to use it but I have to say no.
When it isn't so blasted hot out there, yes, mine are on it.
Especially when my hubby or I are outside and working in the garden or the yard.
Also I use it during homeschool for our gym time.
We got ours at Christmas. My kids are 10, 13, and 16.
We did not put the net up.
They put the sprinkler on underneath it so the trampoline gets wet.
They also take their jumpropes out there and use them on it.
If you sit on it with them they will bounce you around, that is great fun. I have to sit down or else I get motion sick.
When friends come they are always on it.
It is a good investment

Depends on the kids. Most of the time (I've never lived in NY though) homeowner's insurance cover it (right now we have Farmer's insurance) and they don't care about trampolines and pools as long as they are in a fenced yard, that was the case in SC too.

I LOVED trampolines growing up. I jumped on them from age 9 (when I first saw one) to well, now haha. I don't have one yet here, but growing up I jumped on it. Each year will differ, but it never phases out unless the kids really don't want to jump on it. We used to put the sprinkler under it and jump on it wet. For us, it took 4 years for the novelty to wear off when I was growing up. And after 4 years we still jumped on it just not as much as we used to. It attracts your friends over too lol. I personally would jump on the trampoline after my daughter (if she did) get tired of it so it's a good investment to me.

Google trampoline injuries. Over 168,000 kids a year get seriously injured. They pull their teeth out on the surrounds they break legs and arms when the surface bounces up and hits their body wrong. They are the most dangerous thing a child can use outside of a gymnastics studio. When I read the story posted by one mother who was standing beside the trampoline watching the son bounce and she heard his neck break when he fell. He died and she will always hear that cracking neck and regret buying a trampoline.

After knowing this, researching the information, all of it I decided on not allowing one at my home. Then Santa brought us one, with huge metal jingle bells tied on the springs with bright red ribbons. My loving friend told me I was being too negative and just to let the kids have fun. It has been over 10 degrees for over a month now and they can't go out and use it.

We have 2 mini tramps in the house and they bounce while watching TV a lot of the time. If you are adamant about the rules, such as only one at a time and NO flips or tricks or they are grounded from using it for the rest of that day and how ever many days following then they could be very safe on them.

I used mine through college when I was home and after when visiting until it was taken down. Loved it. I did gymnastics and so did many of my friends, so we did lots of tricks and other crazy stuff without getting hurt. Have fun and enjoy jumping.

Our neighbor has one - they've had it for about 3 years.
First year it got used a lot.
2nd year it got used sparingly.
3rd year it makes a nice shady spot for the dog to lounge in.
Consider how long you should keep it once the novelty wears off.
You WILL be getting rid of it again someday sooner or later.

Here in MA a lot of insurance companies will cancel your homeowners insurance if you get one and the ones that will cover them are very very expensive. I'd check with your insurance first.

yes and so do their friends. we had one from walmart and in 6 months the foam padding and net were destroyed. we bought one from academy and it is much better. if i had the money, i would have bought the spring free one that costco had. all my neighbors have it still after 5 years with zero problems.
One insurance company said no trampolines+pool or it would cost an extra $400. Everyone else said it costs nothing extra.

Trampolines are awesome! Our kids love theirs. I had one growing up and really enjoyed it too. It's fantastic exercise, and it's actually great for building coordination as well.

I have one....and yes i grew up with one...discourage "tricks" and don't allow crowding and you'll be fine. My kids jump on theirs at least 5 times a week during good weather seasons. The adults enjoy it from time to time too.

My son was going to get one and I told him to call his insurance company.
Just what I thought. If they find out you have one, the can cancel your
insurance (I am in NY). They do spot checks. Happened to a neighbor.
Had to take it down. They are also dangerous. I am glad my son could
not get one. So I would check if you are seriously thinking about it.

Once the novelty wears off in a few weeks they will continue to jump but less frequently and friends ALWAYS want to jump when they come to visit.
