For the time being, take some Motrin (Ibuprophen) for the pain. My MIL swears by cutting an aspirin tablet in half and resting it on the affected tooth. Hope Friday comes soon for you!!
So I have a bad tooth ache and I dont see my dentist till friday. Does anyone know of home remedies that work. Thanks

Put tea tree oil on a q tip and put it directly on the tooth, or even around the gum line.
if it is a root issue, the tea tree oil still might work, but ask your dentist to give you a two day prescription of vicoden to keep you thru the night..
I use clove oil for tooth aches. It works instantly, but beware, the taste is pretty strong and it numbs any part of your mouth that it touches.
Go buy clove oil from a natural food store. Works great! Don't put too much at once...
Clove oil is even better than Orajel... I paid $2.29 for a dram at Herbs & Arts on Colfax. Just take a cotton swab, lightly saturate it in the oil, squeeze out the excess and apply it to the bothersome tooth. I only use it for REALLY bad toothaches that Tylenol & Ibuprofen won't touch, because it is very intense and I don't like the flavor. It does work wonders though, it numbs the pain out completely and is great for a temporary fix while you are waiting to see the dentist, regardless of where the pain is coming from (nerve or otherwise). Good luck and I hope you feel better!
one time i was dealing with a tooth where pain shot straight to the nerve the dentist office actually told me i could take 4 store ibuprohen tablets and that is the same as a prescription ibuprofen pill, anyways if you do it that way wait 6-8 hours in between and try all the other methods posted to make it comfortable as well.... prayers for you I have had enough tooth pain to last a lifetime so I know what it is like,it's hard.
You didn't describe the type of tooth pain it is, but if it's really bad, urge them to see you tommorow. If they can't, ask for a pain script to get you feeling at least "ok" until Friday. I knooooooooow tooth pain! It sucks! I hope you feel better soon! Sometimes rinsing with salt water can help, but only if it's an outward pain, not nerve pain.
Oragel and Anbesol are numbing agents that helps temporarily. You can get them over the counter at any drugstore. If it's severe then yes get a prescription or go to urgent care. Tooth pain is no joke... I think it's worse than childbirth actually. A cold compress to your face can help sooth some of the tenderness if any. If you start to get a migraine then it can be an infection which you don't want to take lightly. Friday isn't too far away, but with a toothache I know it feels like forever. Take care and hope you get relief soon.
Do NOT put aspirin in your mouth for a tooth ache. It can cause severe burns!!! Call your dentist tmrw and say that you are not getting any sleep and ask if the dr could call in something for pain!
I used green tea bags. I steeped them and then put the bags between my cheek and my tooth. It hellped for about a day but only a root canal totally stopped the pain. See if they can get you in sooner.
When my kids were teething, their doctor recommended I dip a q-tip in a small amount of whiskey and rub it on the gums, perhaps that will work with you. Good luck! I'd also see if the appointment can be moved to a closer date.
