My now 4y/o daughter was born w/ TONZZZZZZZZ of hair and I gave her first haircut at 3 mo, My second (boy, now 2y/o) not so much hair but I trimmed the top of his head since it was very long on top but not much hair anywhere else at about 4 mo...... here's my question:

My 3rd baby is now 3 months old (boy) and doesn't have much hair and it's not really long anywhere, BUT has all those "baby patches" from sleeping on one side of his head (regardless of changing his positioning during sleep)- doesn’t look so great but he is still the cutest ever .

I just razored (spell?) my 2 y/o boy w/ clippers and was wondering do you guys think it is too early to use the clippers to razor the baby? I think it would look so cute all buzzed but am not sure if I should wait till he is bigger. What do you think? or has anyone tried using hair clippers on their young baby?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well in talking to my mom about this I found out that she actually did this to me when I was even younger than my baby! She said they do this in our country to help the hair grow in even. So I turned the clippers on and place them close to the baby and the noise didn't scare my litle guy, he was actually very calm so I went for it and OMG he looks adorable.

I did my Daughters whe she was 4 months (she was born with a lot hair too...)I was going to do it before that but my husband thought she was not going to grow hair back again but she did ....
In my family and a lot of my friends they always do ti .My sister did to my niece and she was 3 months..
It helps to lose the baby hair that they are born with and you wont have those "baby patches: and their hair would star growing even ! and babies look really cute when they are bold !!
In my husband family a lot people where saying that why I was doing that but now my sister in law started to the same thing because she saw how my daughters hair was growing.
By the way my husband use clippers too!! :)

I am just telling you my experience , ..I don't expect you or anyone to the same thing but always respect what other people say and it has help me a lot with a lot new ideas and thankful for that ..good luck!!

i think it's too early and you should wait..let his hair be the way it is...it's a 3 month old..you will have plenty of time to cut his hair later on. I would wait!

I think there is no reason to shave his head....he's a baby. I would certainly not put clippers on any kids head until they could at least walk. what's the rush?

Hi M.,
I say if your baby is not afraid of the noise and you are not timid with the razor, why not. My two year old just received his third "razored" hair cut this year, however when he was young, (say 3-6 months or so), he wanted nothing to do with the sound, it scared him. And we both have naturally curly hair, so I understand how unruly it can be after a nap. When he was little I just soaked it and ran gel through it. But like I said, if your baby lets you and your okay doing it, go ahead.

i never heard of such a thing! lol why the hurry to grow their "real" hair? Babies have baby heads~do you think people think it looks bad? i dont mean to offend, i just dont get it. I say leave it. My daughters had fuller than full heads of hair, i cant imagine wanting to cut it or "razor" it...?!
