Too Early to Wrap Gifts?

I am ITCHING to wrap gifts to put under the tree! I know it's early, but I've already done 1/2 my shopping and have a snoopy 10 year old. It just seems mean to have them under the tree for a whole month before it's time to open them. So, too early or no? I also have a 4 year old.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Ok, so I guess I'll wrap them and save them for later. I really don't think my 4 year old could hold out a whole month!

NEVER too early! LOL! I wrapped all of mine and put em under the tree yesterday! I even let my kids (11 & almost 13) pull em all out and look at em! (I remember how fun that was to look and guess...I told em they got to do it one time!) They are all neatly placed back under the tree in the red and green paper w/ the pretty satin bows!!! Why not do it early...we do all that work to wrap em and make em pretty, why not get to look at em for a few weeks? I even run a daycare and the kids leave em alone! I say go for it!

i've been wrapping and putting gifts under the tree for 3 days now. (I have kids aged 6, 4, 2, 1). I just find it easier to wrap and put the gifts out as they come into the house. No worry about having to hide things.

I try to wrap them as I buy them but I don't put them out and under the tree until about a week before.
If you need to hide them, then put them where no one but you will go, like the laundry room, lol :)

get them wrapped and beautiful and stick them high in a closet. Maybe wait another week or two to put them out. we have animals and they will run and chase and rip them ..........ugh. I wait to the last min.

I start wrapping things for OTHER people first and those go out. Everybody adds to the pile and we have a couple of Dec/Jan birthdays so we stick those out, too. Then closer to Christmas I put out things for the family and we always keep a few back til Christmas Eve. I'm itching to decorate and whatnot myself. Not sure why I'm so itchy for Christmas this year, but I won't knock it.

I have all mine wrapped but not under the tree... That is because my 18 month old would not leave them alone so they are in a box in my closet.

I wrap as early as possible. Presents for cousins, grand parents etc go under the tree after they are wrapped. Presents for kids (7 & 9) would not go out until Christmas Eve because that's when Santa brings them ;)

Nope. It's not too early. My rule of thumb is that I don't wrap until the tree is in the stand with lights on. Because then I want to put the gifts under it. It keeps me honest about getting the tree decorated.

But once the tree is up, if I have gifts that aren't going to be kept hidden until Xmas Eve, then they go right under. OR unless it is some sort of weird box that they will know just by seeing the box what is in it. :(
For those things, they usually are kept at a friend's until closer to Xmas. When I can bring them in and tuck/hide them behind other gifts under the tree. My kids don't move stuff around once it is under the tree... no shaking, etc. They just don't. I don't really know why... I guess they just sort of consider it all off limits. Which is fine by me. :)

What I would likely do, if I were you, is I would put 2 or 3 things out now. Then in a day or so, put another couple of items out. Then after another few days, add some more... then you will have room in your current "hiding spots" to keep the rest of your shopping until you get it wrapped as well. I have been known to hide gifts in my china cabinet---my kids would NEVER think to look there!!

What a bunch of early birds!! I really didn't exactly think I was last minute, but I am starting to feel like I am!! I have purchased ONE gift so far for my daughter, and I am waiting for it to be shipped to me, so needless to say, its not wrapped yet!! To answer your question though, I would wait 2 weeks before I put anything out. I have a 1 year old and a 4 year old though. Happy wrapping!

HAHA I FEEL THE SAME WAY!! I start wrapping, but keep everything in my room. I can't help myself. I will slowly start to put the stuff from mom and dad under the tree about a week, week and a half before Christmas, or my little snoopers will be shaking everything, trying to guess ;)

I hope to get a lot of my homework done tonight so I can wrap a lot tomorrow night. Not only because I'm excited to get going, but also because I know a need a few more things, but I need to figure out what I need.

I don't put anything under the tree until it's time though. I have a hard enough time not giving it to them early.

And of course a few gifts need to be put together, so we'll have to do that closer to Christmas anyways.

I definitely dont think its too early to have the presents wrapped but I also would never put them under the tree a month early - thats just cruel LOL
I have a ton of my presents wrapped but I have a 2 yr old so they will go under the tree on Christmas Eve and not a day sooner

Mine have already been wrapped for a month in the closet! They'll go under the tree as soon as I bother to get it out.

It's never too early to wrap. Do it when you have time so you're not doing it last minute.

As far as putting them under the tree, to me it's a little early, but if that's what works for you, then go for it.
