In 2006 I was either sick with strep or on meds for strep! It was awful! So I had to have my tonsilis out in May 2006 (I was 33 at the time).

For adults the recovery is not so great - but it is so much better for kiddos because they don't have as much tissue to remove. Like the others who have written, I also highly recommend the surgery. A little bit of discomfort is much better than being sick all the time.

Good Luck!

We waited several months to have my son's tonsils removed and then the surgeon was sick the day before the surgery so we were rescheduled, then we were rescheduled again due to 9/11. He finally had them removed in October that year. I was so stressed out that he would get sick again, but fortunately he didn't. So sorry you have to wait, but in my experiences that is completely normal. Hope that helps.

when my son was 5, he had his tonsils removed for the same reason. There was nothing to it. He recoperated at home and was able to go back to school the following week.

We have dealt with the same thing here with my 8 yr old. We just had his tonsils out on 10/11/07. I had mine out last October. My son was ALWAYS getting strep. I highly recommend it.

My son used my ENT who is awesome. He had the procedure done at The Doctor Surgery Center at Huguley Hospital.

My son is doing great. I wish I would have had his done sooner.

Goodluck and keep us posted. :)

Go see Dr. Palmer in ft. worth. He is the best! He uses radio waves instead of cutting or burning. He'll get you in quicker. when I first made my appt. they told me a month. I told her to put me on the cancellation list and she got me inm in a week and a half. Once we see the Dr. it's usually about 1 week until the surgery!
