allergies I do it to and don't know im doing it.
Hi--my son just turned three last week and is driving me crazy with this stuff and wondering if something wrong? He constantly rubs his nose (I think this is allergies) but along with that he will run his hand through his hair or hold his hair or in some way or another be touching his face, even when watching something he likes or doing other things sometimes. It's starting to worry me but this is my first so don't know if others' kids did this and it's normal? He's fine with language and everything else (shy with other kids) and seems like a happy kid.
Thanks so much moms, I feel better already (I had started to wonder about tics and stuff!) Yes probably got hypersensitive to it as I watched it more. It probably bugs me a lot more than it bugs him--although will have to find out what he's allergic to or how I can help with that...gave him Hylands but doesn't seem to help all that much maybe a little bit--Thank you for your responses!

Its itchy (his nose)
or it is a self-comforting thing.
Or he is very tactile.
Is it the "allergy salute"? Palm under nostrils & swiping it up?
As for the other things--are you hyper-focusing on it now that you've noticed it?
My son used to sit watching tv and chew his shirt--drove me nuts, but it was a phase.
I agree with allergies for the nose. As for the hair/face: my DD tugs on her ears. Mostly when she's sleepy but if she's watching a movie or really anything not too active, she's pulling away on her ear. It's normal. :) (My DD has been doing this since she was about 6 months old & is now 3.5 yrs old).
I have to agree with the ladies. the nose is probably allergies. The hair pulling is a comforting thing. Some kids suck their thumbs. some kids will grab their ear lobe. Others are more of an item holder. Every kid will find some way to make them selfs feel comforted.
Most of them grow out of it.
Hello I was wondering what ever came of your situation. My son just turned 3 last month and does exactly the same thing. I am really starting to get worried that he's allergic to something so we are taking him to another doctor next week. He seems to move between habits - i.e. for several days he will rub his nose constantly, then for a few days it will be rubbing his hair - right now for the past week or so it's been rubbing the side of his face. His pour face is almost raw - looks kinda like poison ivy from rubbing it so much.
