Ikea has some flat ones that are perfect at that age. They also have duvet covers and comforters that fit a toddler bed.
Hi Moms, my son is 18 mons. old. When can we start having them sleep on a pillow? Are there toddlers pillow? Any suggestions or recommendations would be great.
Thank you in advance.
Thank you all for the responses. For now I'll just use the toddler blanket and fold it into fours to make a small pillow for him to use. In the mean time I will continue searching for a toddler pillow in stores. I am kind of skeptical about ordering it online because i don't know how firm or soft they will be. For most of the times, he seems to sleep on it.

My 2 both started sleeping on a regular pillow by 12 months. I found that it helped them not to sleep so wild becuase they wanted to sleep on the pillow, which helped them get into a toddler bed. Although my son is 15 months and we are still trying to help him with the all over the bed sleeping, but I believe with the pillow, it has helped him more.
My daughter started sleeping on a pillow at the age of 2. I just made sure that her pillow was firm not soft. Good luck:)
It took some getting used too on my daughters part, but after a few nights rest, she was used to it.
One Step Ahead, I believe they are only online, makes a great toddler pillow. We gave our children these toddler pillows around 15 months.
I went to the craft section at the walmart and bought a pillow there that is probably ment to be a throw pillow, then made her a pillowcase out of fleece. She loves it! I think she was about a year when she got it, for her birthday.
I've heard many, many times, that it is time when they want or ask for one.
My son is a tummy sleeper, so I got him a tummy sleeper pillow and he likes it. I just recommend getting one of those zipping covers for the pillow. Ours has saved us from having to wash the pillow many times.
Hi C.,
I am not sure if there are any pediatrician recommendations when it comes to toddler pillows, but I bought the crib pillow and comforter at Ikea. My son is 1 1/2 and the pillow is the perfect size and depth for the crib/toddler bed and his body size.
Good luck!
My daughter was 2 when we got her a pillow for Christmas. I got a travel sized pillow from BB&B, and the travel pillowcase to fit it. She likes it, but for the first month or two she was only sleeping ON it half the time b/c she moves around in her sleep
My grandkids, 6 and 7, still do not use pillows. They use a small down pillow occasionally, but not very often.
I can't remember the age we had our first son using a pillow but I'm guessing around 2 years old. It was just a regular pillow & it never seemed all that comfortable for him, but then I discovered the wonderful selection of pillows at IKEA & it's been so much better ever since. They come in all different sizes & there was a perfect one for his little head. Plus the price was awesome so if it didn't work out, I wouldn't feel like it was a waste. Good luck!
My little guy started using a pillow he was about a little over a year old. We let him use a pillow at first because it helped him breath while he had a stuffy nose from a little cold. We used it sporadically for a while after that but more often than not he's on a pillow now - It's a pretty deflated pillow though - and he's on a twin mattress not in a crib (although I'm not sure if it makes any difference)
Also, we don't tend to put just his head on it. Typically his entire upper body is on the pillow.
Yes, there are toddler pillows, but i could only find them at Pottery Barn Kids. They also have pillow cases. We gave a pillow to our son, when he was pulling down the bumper pads and using them as his pillow - right around 18 months.
Good luck! Hope that helps!
My daughter was about 20 months when she got a pillow...we gave it to her with her big girl bed. Check out Target for a pillow. They have a bunch of different sizes of pillows ranging in price. I found a toddler pillow at Bed Bath and Beyond, but it was like $20 and I just didn't think I needed to spend that for a smaller than average pillow!
My daughter started sleeping with a pillow (a regular sized one) around 2.
Hi, you know what I used to do is get a toddler blanket and fold it into four. All the pillows I tried for my kids didnt look right for their neck. This fit the bill for me and them.
