Hello Liz,

I hope your baby girl is not coughing anymore. here is what I use with my kids:
on a tissue put:
5 drops peppermint oil
2 drops rosemary oil
1 drop basil oil

you can put the tissue in the room your daughter is in and in her bedroom at night. make sure you replace it on a daily basis because the tissue will smell kind of funny after a couple of days.

you can get the essential oils at sprouts, whole foods, health food stores, gnc, etc.
Good luck! ~C.~

It can also be allergies... my son starts coughing a lot when I don't give him the allergy medicine and it gets really nasty. Considering the fires we had, the rain and how windy it has been, you should consider it.
Also, you may try a humidifier, it has been doing wonders to our family.
Good luck!

You can give her Mucinex for kids to help get the phlegm out of there. Also, do the Vicks on the feet trick. At night, put Vicks on the bottom of her feet, put socks on, and then leave them on overnight. It works.

With the weather going back and forth and all the wind I would guess that it's allergies. If there is no other symptoms like fever and a thick runny nose I would try treating her with allergy medicine maybe, children s Zrytec.
Sometime even though there are no allergy symptoms there is an unseen post nasal drip that tickles the throat and causes the cough. It's most likely if it's worse at night.
