My daughter is 2.5 years old and ABSOLUTELY refuses to let me 1) comb her hair and 2) cut her hair. God forbid I get near her with scissors. I don't want to fight her for the fear that I will hurt her. Any suggestions on what I can do to get her to let me cut her hair? I've tried doing it while she's asleep but I always wake her and she really doesn't take naps anymore for me to do it. HELP!
Michelle, sorry for the delay! I took my daughter (almost 3) to a salon for kids. They have seats that look like cars, which children love and they play a movie while they are cutting their hair.
I have the same problem when I try to comb my daughter's hair so I give her a comb and that way she let me comb her hair because she can also comb her hair or mine. I hope this helps.

I do not know where you live but I picked up this buisness card at my sons school today for a place in Greenacres, GL called KIDZ CUTS R US and they specialize in childrens haircuts. She told me they have little cars the kids can sit in and they get so distracted that they don't even feel their hair cut.
I never took my girl to any salon because she doens't mind in letting me cut her hair.

Its a face a child go through! All children go though it in many different circumtance! If I were you just leave it dont cut it! WHen it time to comp it do it while she baths get her distracted wih a toy! After you shampoo her put on some contitioner and gently comb her hair!! In my scenerio I leav the conditoner in for a while! I even leave in it does make it very shiny:) As for the cut she might sence that your anxiouse to cut it and her reaction is to avoid it! I would suggest you to take her some where were they especialize in cutting hair for kids! I know of one! Let me know where are you located! Their are varies! One that I go is in Lohmans plaza! Near Aventura! I dont recall the name! In their is only for children! They have toy the seat is a car or airplane! Its very nice Plus they have a movie on for them while they get a cut!
